Question about the current membership sale

Hey guys just a quick question regarding the current sale on Giant Bomb memberships. Is it true that the membership adds onto your existing membership? I purchased my current subscription during the Mother's day sale (currently expires on May 10th 2015) so if I get the sale will it increase to May 10th 2016?

I'm 99% sure that is indeed how it works.
