Hey, Duders!

I wanted to learn PHP, so I made this website:

UPDATE: This project has evolved over the past 3 years and the database now includes most premium videos, all live streams, even the unarchived ones, and a bunch of other content. It goes way beyond the simple Quick Look filter it once was!

The original pitch for the site (a bit outdated):

Have you ever wanted to get a list of Quick Looks with just Jeff and Vinny? Do you want to browse through Ryan's fantastic legacy? Or maybe you just want to avoid Brad in a QL, because his voice is too sexy?

I have the answer to all of these questions in a form of this website. Go there and just watch all of those Drew, Vinny and Dave Quick Looks in one sitting! I know you want to.

But there are more options for filtering. You can, for example, exclude all kind of videos where there is a combination of people, so if you don't like how Ryan "hates" Brad just choose their names and tick an appropriate checkbox below. The database also has most of guests that appeared on QLs (QL EX's are not filled with names no-one remembers).

You can combine filters to get all sorts of weird and surprising results.

Many people like to put videos in a playlist of some kind, so there are 3 types supported: a YouTube playlist, an HTML5/Flash player on the site with a playlist functionality, and an ability to download m3u playlists for use in VLC, Windows Media Player and probably your mobile device, with instant streaming!

Anyway, have fun.

Some of QLCrew's functionality:

• Filter videos by people who are in them, games played or highlights
• Find guest appearances of many awesome people, like Brad Muir, other people and Dave Lang
• Use the text search to find all Sleeping Dogs or Game Room Quick Looks
• Find longest GB videos ever recorded
• Create playlists to play them all in a row
• Find out when the crew played a specific game on a live stream
• Best/notable moments from live streams are listed as highlights
• All of these have clickable timestamps so you can watch them right away
• Chat archives!
• Voting for videos
• Automatically generated list of best videos
• Podcasts?

This is fantastic. Being able to filter out and select certain combos/groups is something I've wanted to do since about 2010. Nice job!

Are you kidding? This is incredible. There's like 139 Jeff & Vinny quicklooks, I'll never be bored again!

Did you go and through every QL and tag which staff members were featured because that's very impressive (and I imagine incredibly time consuming).

edit: bug, when searching dave (snides) I pulled up the Wreckateer QL with Dave Lang.

Pretty much, but first I made myself a neat page/script to help me with it, so I cut the time needed to minimum. I think I could do 100 per hour max. Few days spent on just the database, but it wasn't the worst job in the world. I've discovered more Vinny & Jeff QLs so it was worth it.

This is a really neat thing! I'm also curious as to how you managed to get all the metadata assembled. Did you go through by hand and tag them or did you parse the text of the video decks for the names of people in them?

As an improvement, it'd be great to have regular Quick Look guest as a search option. It'd be fantastic to easily pull up everything Brad Muir has been on.

To do that all you had to do was click on 'quicklook' under the 'videos' tab

This is great. It's useful for looking at Quick Look teams stats too. Did you know there have been 22 QLs with just Vinny, Jeff and Ryan? One of my personal favorites of those is the Pac-Man Party QL.

This made my day, week, month, and possibly year.
