Recommend a REALLY scary game!

So I'm looking for a really good horror game that I can play with my friends. It doesn't necessarily have to have co-op in it because we don't mind watching while only one of us plays, but it has to be a game thats on the 360 since thats the only console my friends have.

Any good recommendations? I was thinking maybe the Condemned games?

Amnesia; hook your computer up to your TV.

Um, Dead Space 1?

Yup, Condemned: Criminal Origins. My favorite horror game of all time, followed by Amnesia. So many great moments, like the mannequin part in the department store.

I have yet to see an actually scary co-op horror game, seems it could be done if indie.

Amnesia as already said. By far one of the scariest games in a long time.

I've been considering Amnesia, but is it a game that can be played while other people are watching without them getting bored?

Both condemned games a pretty scary and are tons of fun. Man, I could really use another one of those game.

Dog's Life.

The ending will freak anyone out.

I can just imagine you and your buddies in your PJs with the lights out all squealing in terror and hugging each other every time something scary happens.

Even if your friends only have 360s, games like Amnesia and Slender don't really need high end PCs for you to run them, I'd especially recommend the latter if you want to play with friends around.

scary games are kinda pointless if you'r enot alone in a dark room

You have a computer. Go emulate Clock Tower on the SNES.

Cry of Fear, a mod for the original Half Life, is really fantastic. If you scare easy, it's best played with the lights on.

Silent Hill 3 and the Resident Evil remake. They're most definitely not the scariest you can find, but given that so many of the other big hitters have been mentioned, I'm doing what I can :P

Ah, 360 only, I missed that part... Well, guess you can scratch those two off the list. In that case I'll echo @sackmanjones and his Condemned games recommendation.

Sadly due to mainstream console development "AAA" concepts of "horror" or "survival horror" usually amounts to "action games with monsters".

Currently, pc titlles... specifically indie ones are vastly superior. Slender man for example.

Amnesia, Penumbra: The Black Plague, System Shock 2 (You can get it now on GOG.com, tons of great mods online that make it look really good these days too)

Cheers

If PC absolutely isn't an option I'd go with the first Condemned. I watched a full playthrough on Youtube and at least I found it entertaining.

There aren't many on XBOX.

Not many remember it but The Suffering was pretty cool. It was on original XBOX, may be able to find it on XBOX live.

Really scary though is hard to find these days. You would be best served on PC with games already mentioned. True horror focused games have never sold well (in big budget numbers) so they are uncommon on consoles now.

Try Amnesia and Slenderman.

Amnesia and Condemned are two games I stopped playing soon after starting because they made me uneasy in my guts

Fatal Frame 2. It's an Xbox 1 game, but it runs well on the 360.
