I own: CSS, GMod 10, DoDS, and TF2. I'll be buying Killing Floor when my guest pass runs out. I'm covered on shooters so does anyone know any good RPG, RTS, Action, type game(s) $20 and under? I was looking at  Penumbra and it looks sorta like what I want to play also that Cryostasis Quick Look made me want to buy it. I've also been wanting a RTS but don''t really know any good PC ones.

I haven't played it yet, but Torchlight looks pretty rad. It's also only $20. Worth a look I think.

Killing Floor is pretty good, you can read my review I made. I'd recommend you get Audiosurf, if your a music whore like me. Its pretty entertaining and its cheap and Altitude is pretty interesting. As for RTS games you can't go wrong with Dawn of War II.

Torchlight is very rad. I cannot recommend it enough. It has destroyed all desire I had to play Diablo III.
Also get Xcom and Xcom: Terrror from the Deep for only $5 each.

If you are looking for a great RTS you can't go wrong with Company of Heroes. The Gold version packages Company of Heroes and it's expansion Opposing Fronts together for $30. If you wait, you might be able to grab a deal on the package. Earlier this year I got it for $15. Make sure to always check in on Steam and see what their deals are, some of the weekend deals or midweek deals can be too good to pass up.

I would suggest the hell out of you at least trying the demo for World of Goo.

The CoH series is sweet, a bit tough to get into the multiplayer tho.

Arkham Asylum if you haven't played it is a must.

I'll make another recommendation for The Last Remnant.  The PC version fixes all the issues with the 360 version, and refines the battle system further.  While the game might not appeal to everyone (turn based combat system, which the demo shows off horribly), it's on sale for 75% off at the moment, and I enjoyed the game a lot when I played through it a month ago.  At the very least, it will be completely unlike anything else you can find on PC.

@Rebirth1337:

Incredibly slow (but awesome and creepy) games:
  1. Penumbra Collection
  2. Cryostasis
  3. The Void
  4. The Path
Action awesomeness:
  1. Zeno Clash
  2. S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl
  3. Mass Effect
  4. Shadowgrounds Survivor
  5. Bionic Commando Rearmed
  6.  Aquaria
"Casual" heart attacks:
  1. Plants vs. Zombies
  2. Gyromancer
  3. Braid
  4. Osmos
  5. Bookworm Adventures 2
Additional outlandish choices:
  1. Zombie Shooter
  2. Alien Shooter
  3. Hammerfight
  4. Defcon
  5. Machinarium

Those are all in the sub $20 category, afaik.

Steam usually runs some crazy deals after Christmas...around Thanksgiving I picked up several titles for $2 a piece.

Defense Grid: The Awakening - the best tower defense game that has ever existed.  $9.99 atm
Torchlight - if you like loot based rpgs its a really good Diablo clone, no surprise really since its made by some of the same guys.  $19.99 atm
Zeno Clash - first person melee fighter, good story, amazing visuals and art style, simple but fun combat. $14.99 atm
Oddworld: Abe's Exodus - still an amazing classic platformer/puzzle solver with incredible art style, visual design and animation. $7.49 atm

I have 32 games on my steam account now, most of them are regular titles though.  Some from retail that require steam and some that are digital only.   Bought Mirror's Edge and Chronicles of Riddick for like 15 bucks when steam was doing the discount week sales.

Yes, I love Creative Assembly's Total War franchise. Rome: Total War was probably even better.
