Damn, RE4 still looks good to this day, was playing the Gamecube version the other day,  and it(the graphics)still puts some current gen games to shame.any thoughts on how they pulled this off?
i personally think they used Black Magic.

also the gameplay is still compelling, why dont they make another one like this?
minus the giant escort mission(only bad thing about the game i can come up with).

i mean RE5 was okay, but RE4 it was not. all i want is updated controls(although i still love RE4 controls, dont know why people bitch about em).
No buddy tagging along, decent upgrade system. bring back the attache case from RE4(RE5 really dropped the fucking ball on that one.) and make a more complex weapon upgrade system.

thoughts?

I thought RE5 was just as good as RE4, just not as long.
I beat professional mode with the AI teammate, and they never died once.

Midget napoleon. If RE5 had that. It would be the greatest game ever.

I preferred the gameplay of RE5 (so replayable) but I thought it wasn't a real 'horror' experience.

Same here, I have no idea why some people moan about the AI partner. Its fine.

I loved RE5. It's not scary at all, but the gameplay still works great and it has a ton of replay value.

My only complaint about RE5 is the inventory system. I understand the need for "quick-switching" but they could have done that with the suitcase setup, had they chosen to.

Other than that, i thought RE5 was a lot of fun. Certainly not as creepy and nerve-wracking as RE4, but still fun.

RE5 had an astounding amount of replay value. Between that and Mercs, I played RE5 more than any other game in 2009.

now that you guys bring it up, RE4 had such a better "Horror" Atmosphere and was all around scarier.

RE4 was great, especially when it came out. The controls are a bit clunky by todays standard and I think they should have changed them more for RE5. I don't know if the graphics puts today's games to shame

some games, not all. cant name any at the moment, im am kinda shitfaced right now. and im nearing my post count for today. so if i think of any iw ill post later.

although the new Resident Evil game for 3DS(not the merc one) looks pretty cool. combining the gameplay of RE4 & 5, but adding the atmosphere of the old ones,(Not alot of ammo and whatnot.)

Resident Evil 5 is one of the worst games I've ever played. I've been a RE fan for over 10 years and I wish RE5 never existed. It ruined the franchise and I wish I could go back and never play it. It's that bad.

It was a mediocre action game at best, I was left unimpressed by the whole experience. The first part of the final battle with Wesker alone takes this game down a full grade.

Resident Evil 5 gets too much hate. Sure, it's no RE4 but it's still my favorite third person shooter of the gen.  I much prefer it over the Dead Space games.
