Official Website

So, who's going?

Like it says in the banner, Friday 6th and Saturday 7th July. £12 per day or £20 for a two day pass. I'm pretty excited because we rarely get anything like this in the UK and even rarer for it to be PC specific. Best of all I live in and around Brighton, so super easy to get to.

The lineup includes playable Borderlands 2 (as well as a stage demo from Randy Pitchford), Aliens: Colonial Marines, Far Cry 3, Shootmania, Serious Sam 3 and Skulls of the Shogun. Check the website for the major listings.

On top of that are going to be a series of talks and on stage demos. I already mentioned Borderlands 2 but Creative Assembly will be there to unveil their newest strategy title in the Total War series, as well as a talk from Peter Moleyeux about his new studio. All exciting stuff.

Brighton is very well connected by train and the Brighton Centre is a straight line walk from the train station. I urge UK Giant Bomb fans to come. I'll be down there on Friday all day, wearing my Giant Bomb T-Shirt and sporting long hair plus beard so feel free to come and say hi.

Thinking about it.

Manchester to Brighton and back seems very expensive, I'll have to pass. Thanks for the heads up regardless.

@FLStyle: Yeah... trains are disgustingly expensive.

I won't be heading down to Brighton, but I will be attending the Eurogamer Expo as I do every year. I'm sure I'll see a few of you down there.

Just PC, probably not.

You can also buy tickets on the day if you don't want to order online. I've met one Giant Bomb fan in brighton before, I'd like to meet a few more.

I'd like to go but don't have the money at the moment, I am going to Eurogamer in September though

I live close so I could go on Saturday, however the games aren't really pulling me much. Maybe.

I was intrigued until I read "indie." It's probably gonna be like PAX or something where everyone is talking about gimmicky flash games that a multitude of indie geniuses created on their own in a short time.

Plenty of the games are also on console, so unless you against seeing the same games with better graphics and framerate I don't see why it makes much difference to be honest.

I'd go but somebody I know might see me. Seems like Rome 2 will be announced for proper though, so that's something.

#13 Posted by ErEl (142 posts) -

@Jimbo: Why are you trying to avoid them?

Not really. Most of the 'indie' stuff are the smaller steam games, skulls of the shogun etc. Plus there are talks from these small developers and even Peter Molyneux with his new studio which is technically indie.

What makes you think that it will be Rome 2? I was hoping for something different.

@Jimbo: Well, that's clearly set in 2025.

Fuck me, I live in Brighton. I wish I'd known about this and wasn't desperately poor.
