A continuation of last week’s battle to find which console is the best.  Bracket 1 was dominated by the Playstation 2 over its predecessor, the Playstation.   Bracket 2 was a competition between the Nintendo Entertainment System and the Xbox360.  Despite the superior graphics and Halo, the old Nostalgia of the Nintendo Entertainment System seems to always win over the graphical power houses of other consoles, much like the Sega Master System.

In this Bracket, we have two Nintendo Consoles making competition, with The Nintendo 64 versus the Nintendo Gamecube.

Gamecube. The N64 had some great titles, but the Gamecube's quality was much denser in my opinion.

The N64 was revolutionary, and had some industry-changing games, but there is just too much good stuff for the Gamecube for it to be ignored.

Shit, that is a really hard choice but, I think I would have to pick Gamecube because it had more great games on it.  Don't get me wrong, N64 is still a kick ass system.

Easily the Nintendo 64.  Zelda OoT, Mario 64, Majora's Mask, Goemon, Body Harvest, Jet Force Gemini, Banjo-Kazooie/Tooie -- one could go on.

Despite the fact that I'm not that big on nostalgia I have to go with the Nintendo 64, despite the fact that the N64 had a terrible controller.

Interesting.  I thought that the Gamecube was WAY better than the N64.  Basically the only choices for the N64 were platformers, shooters, and racing games.  There wasn't much in the way of diversity.  Also, there was NO METROID!!!

I prefer the gamecube, more quality and innovative games, better support in the third party department (in comparison) and that sexy, comfortable controller.

I liked the gamecube, I mean Melee was on it, but I went with the N64, cuz I mean OOT is on it.

That's not fair.

Gamecube, an average system, put against arguably the best system ever made.

No you fail hard. Gamecube was a great system with awesome games. It was just overshadowed by the PS2.

Which points to the purpose of this thread.  To find out which is better.

While the N64 has some damn fine games on it (including the legendary-heh, see what I did there?-OoT, as well as Perfect Dark), the Gamecube had a greater abundance of games that I enjoyed even more (Wind Waker, Melee, Metroid Prime and F-Zero, for example).

The N64 has OOT and Mario 64, which are some of my favorite games of all time, not to mention everyone else's.
Meanwhile, I have like 5 Gamecube games left. Sure, it had Melee, Wind Waker, and two (originally 3 before RE4 was ported to the PS2) exclusive Resident Evil titles, but it doesn't have (arguably) two of the most revered games in history.

Dude, it's opinion. I personally dont have many N64 games. It was revolutionary, but that doesnt mean the games have aged well.

Three reasons why the N64 gets my vote Goldeneye, ocarina of time, and mario 64. Me and my friends wasted many a weekend playing goldeneye.
