Should GiantBomb.com add a Poll of The Day?

Sure why not but there are more important things that should be on the front page in my opinion.
 
Perhaps get rid of that "question of the day" on the top of the forums that changes every month and you are forced to make a blog post and make that into a poll.

I don't see anything wrong with this. They could even discuss the results on the Bombcast.

I think the idea of it being discussed on the Bombcast could be really neat.  So yeah! (but weekly poll)

There already is a question of the day. Although it gets updated like every month.

A weekly poll would be better. Finding a different one every single day would be tedious, and waiting longer would allow more people to "vote", making it more interesting. But yeah, definitely.

Weekly poll it is then!  I just thought of a DAILY poll because GameFAQs did that and they have all these throw-away questions like... uh...  Whats yer favorite color?  and stupid questions like that and then they have the Character battle every year.

I'm not a fan of daily polls. After you've been doing them for about a week you run out of things to ask about. And I definitely wouldn't want to see it promoted on the front page, there are far more important things to be promoted on the front page than a silly poll.

It would be better then the 'Question of the Day' which is more of a question of the month.

While a weekly poll would be cool, I can think of a few better things to put on the front page than that.

Weekly would be better because it would be easier to talk about in the bombcast.

I personally think that would be sweet; I visit espn.com and enjoy taking their 10-20 polls per day among other things.  Just interesting to see regional preferences and what not.  Might not translate as well to video games.

You did not ask me in particular about this but i think that my sentiment about this is somewhat identical to his. The site has underwent quite some redesigns and with every redesign something important would go away. From the top of my head there is the "popular wikis that need work" tab, "most active wiki editors" and "upcoming releases" that were removed during redesigns that really should get back on there first. "

You pretty much nailed why Giantbomb shouldn't have it. Gamefaqs does it. Giantbomb and Gamefaqs are two separate site and doesn't need to emulate other websites. Beyond that as you said, they fill it with throw away questions. Lastly Giant Bomb does its own thing, it's called question of the week.

No.  These suck, I hate them on every other site.  Giantbomb's front page information is fine, it covers more interesting things, like game activity and achievement tracking.  I'd rather see that or information or something more like that.

Absolutely not. That's what every other jackhole site does and nobody really cares about the results. More importantly, they devolve into stupid jackass questions after a couple weeks.
