Should I buy a GameCube for 30 bones?

GameStop is now selling a refurbished GameCube for $30. I never owned the GameCube during its prime so I am wondering if I should pick it up now and play some of the great games that have come out for it for cheap. What do y'all think?

up to you, it has its games, really depends whether u want to play on it or not.

 Easy yes. Don't believe the naysayers; the GC had some fantastic games.

I used to enjoy playing on my brothers GC......the game selection wasn't that great though.

GameCube > Wii.

I bought a Gamecube with Pokemon XD for £15 (about the same price) granted she didnt know what the game was worth, but i'd  say just look out for personal ads and a great deal will pop up somewhere.

$30 is a great price for a GC, so yes, I would. That's half the price of a new video game now-a-days.

Buy it, love it,  sleep with it. Alright maybe not. But do pick up Eternal Darkness.

I bought mine a while a go for 20 bones try searching around for a better deal although that is a good deal, some great games on the GameCube.

Just depends on whether you can get the games. If yes, go for it.

The GameCube has some incredible games, such as Metroid Prime, Wind Waker, Mario Kart, RE4 and as ZimpanX said above, Eternal Darkness.

You should defiantly check it out. The only down-side is second hand games arnt as cheap as you would expect for some reason...

No, i'd just buy a GCN controller and some Cards and a wii

I never really enjoyed the Game Cube when I played it at my friends house, although I guess it's worth a try.

Sure, as long as you're not planning on getting a Wii in the near future.  The GC has some great games, it's defiantly worth $30.

It's worth buying to pick up some of the old games and if you ever get a Wii you'll be set. Besides a controller costs like 20 bucks anyway so you might as well pick up a console anyways.

I agree with all the above- get it if you don't have/plan on getting a Wii and make sure to pick up some of the great games out there for it

Geez, the list goes on and on. You won't be disappointed if you get the right games.

Uhh; no, lol. If you waste 30 bucks, you have to waste more money on its games, and thats just not worth it.

Or get a Wii lol, and play whatever GC games on it instead, if you even have any.

I would rather just save up for a Wii. That way you can play those great GameCube games and the new Wii games.

If you own a wii then no, nearly all the periphrials for the gamecube work on the wii, and all games do as well.
if not then yes get it! there are amazing gamecube games.

I actually did this. It was pretty fun playing random GC games. And if you get a wii, you're set.

Games are pricy for the gamecube nowadays, especially the good ones, unless your willinging to pay preimum for some of the better games, definately do it, very underratted nintendo console

Why would you buy a thing that can only play Gamecube games when you can buy a thing that can play Gamecube games, Wii games and tons of N64/SNES/NES/Genesis/Neo Geo/et cetera games via Virtual Console?

You can play gamecube games on the Wii if you have that system.....   if you don't have a wii then sure go for it.  There's some good games on it.

if you own a Wii it's kind of pointless as they play those games.

Just get a wii and play the gamecube games in progressive scan.

Do it! Also pick up Resident Evil for it, you won't be disappointed.

The gamecube's a great system. Still, I'd say just get a Wii since it perfectly emulates the Gamecube.

I would say definitely get it, but it really depends on what kinds of games you play. Gamecube had mostly platformers/adventure games.

Do you have a Wii? If so, there's no point in getting a GameCube.

You should, but you can just play gamecube games on the wii but what sort of madman does that.

Do you have a Wii? Then no. Are you a collector? Then no. I'm sure you can find a new GC for around the same price.

Yeah, totally. It has a lot of great games, actually. Kind of an underappreciated console. I've spent more time playing my old GC games on my Wii than I've spent playing actual Wii games. Definitely try out F-Zero GX, Animal Crossing, Eternal Darkness, Super Mario Sunshine, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, Metroid Prime, Pikmin, Resident Evil 4, and Mario Kart: Double Dash!!

I bought one recently so that I could play all the Resident Evil games, and since I've never played Zelda I figured that would be a good place to start. I'm super happy with that decision, I would recommend it.

 Yes, BUT! You should Save up for a wii. Game Cube games are compatible with the Wii, which I find to be and EXCELLENT feature for the Wii. So now I can play Gamecube favs like Mario Kart DOUBLE DASH and Need For Speed:Hot Pursuit and Luigi's Mansion. But if you dont have the money for the Wii, Gamecube is a definet. I guess it depends if your going to play it or not.  But yes It is worth it. Gamecube has its awesome games so Its a yes.
