Hey guys, I've been thinking about buying a PSP. It has more games that I would play on it. So should I retire my '04 DS for the PSP-3000?

I think you sort of answered your own question, but it is your choice. I'd say go for it.

Why retire it? Why not have both? Most people who sell consoles seem to end up regretting it afterward.

Yeah if you can afford getting a psp and keepign the DS you might as well, open up your ability to play more games on both platforms.

I usually regret selling systems unless they brake. Maybe save up enough for a new PSP and keep your old DS.
Both systems are great. You should get Gitaroo man for your psp when you get it too.

Well, I would probably keep the DS, just get rid of a bunch of the games, because I don't play them...

I have both and they're both incredible but my DS got more playtime due to Pokemon. I'd say save up some extra cash and get both.

If that is what you want.  DS has way more/better games, and more games to come but if what you want is on the psp, do it.

With the stuff that I do on my DS, I wouldn't trade that in.

I would keep them both, personally.  I own both, and back when I first had my PSP, I used it almost all the time.  I needed to recharge it almost twice a day!  Videos, games, music, apps, homebrew, even the internet browser.  More of a multimedia device, especially if you have custom firmware, which I recommend.

With that said, I currently like my DS better.  The DS is my portable gaming device, and the PSP is more like a multimedia device.

PSP is a good system, but honestly the game selection is pretty piss poor still.

I never use it for that, really.

It's basically just a portable SNES and video player for me, which is actually pretty awesome.

If you're willing to homebrew it

Keep your DS. Avoid the PSP-3000.

You should always keep your consoles even if you don't really want them anymore...you usually won't be able to get anything for it. If you want more games on PSP than the DS...get a PSP, but pick up the 2000...not the 3000.
