Hell no.
Should Microsoft and Nintendo join?
Maybe one day Nintendo should go 3rd party but with how well there machines are selling I would have to say right now is not the right time.
No, my reasoning, because.
No but seriously, competition is good for the market. Plus it would never happen.
What? No.
" I say that they should join together because now that Microsoft owns Rare ( who made the original Donkey Kong Country series, as well as the popular Donkey Kong 64) Nintendo makes semi-okay Donkey Kong games now. Also, the graphics from Microsoft are amazing, while the graphics on Nintendo's current system don't even support HD video output. This would be a great combination because Rare could make Donkey Kong games again and give them great graphics as well as great Microsoft making better portable systems. "I hate to break it to you, but Rare is a far cry from the development house they were when they made the Donkey Kong Country games. Even then, the idea that Nintendo would want Rare back for a new one is absurd given that Nintendo's own Retro Studios looks to be doing a bang-up job in making the first honest-to-god DKC title since Donkey Kong Country 3.
In a word, no. Nintendo is making a killing with the Wii and DS, and Microsoft is making a killing from the 360 and Xbox Live. It makes no sense for them to merge at all.
No, if anything there should be more companies so competition gets much more fierce and we get cheaper products etc. The idea of microsoft and nintendo joining forces is just dumb imo. I think there are too many family games on the xbox already to be honest.
Why would anyone, ever, want this to happen? You say you want Mario Kart with Xbox graphics, well maybe that's more an indication that Nintendo should make a better console, rather than merge with another company to form a business that would have so many creative differences it would be unholy...
I also wish it game me addresses. And guns. And some money for transport." This is one of the times I wish it displayed all those who voted "Yes". "
EDIT: Shit. this is an old thread.
Infinitely better than how they look on the Wii."
"
EDIT: 9 months ago? Forget it. Have I posted in this thread before?
Remember when Sega and Microsoft joined?
And Nintendo is printing money. It'll take more than one future failed console launch to make them feel the burn, and that's not including their fallback plan in their handheld games console. Until then I'm sure they'd want to remain all on their lonesome so they don't have to share a piece of the pie.
But I suppose in the theoretical sense it would be great to combine American market sensibilities with Nintendo quality first-party titles. And Mario in 1080p without use of an emulator.
Here I though OP was going to give a good reason why it would be a good idea. But all we get a typical 13 year old spout of, "gauise it would be awesome, amirite!!!!!11111???one"
