Sick Burns in video games

After playing the Witcher 3, I found out that Igni was my go-to for signs. I was wondering what other games have awesome fire physics and people-burning. I swear I'm not a pyromaniac.

Far Cry 2

Spec Ops: The Line.

This is not what I wanted, but I'm okay with it too.

Coming across the flamethrower for the first time in Return to Castle Wolfenstein was pretty rad.

@asilentprotagonist: Yes! The Far Cry series, I think 2 handled it best, is great! I sort of wish they'd just unhinge it and make the fire spread until it was put out, even if that would make the game nigh unplayable.

Red Dead had some real great fire physics, for a little fire is used in that game. I loved hogtying enemies, or not enemies, and dragging them through campfires.

I'm also not a pyromaniac.

Eh. I'll go with Far Cry 2 due to my limited experience with games that have extravagant fire tech.

This made me laugh. With the title being 'sicks burns' and then you mentioning that game and how messed up that part of it is.

Far Cry has been the best around.

No one's mentioned the Bioshock games?!

Those are some polygonal people who really don't like being set on fire.

Strife, Blood and DeathDrome all had pretty great fire weaponry.

Oh, and the original Command & Conquer - NOD's flame thrower units (and GDI's air strike) could set fire to trees, and on the maps with several trees close to each other, the fire could spread and would damage nearby units and structures. Not effective enough to be used as part of a strategy, but it still was pretty rad.

Total Annihilation could also do that, but maps with trees were pretty rare.

Red Orchestra 2's Rising Storm expansion. The flamethrowers are absolutely vicious.

Helldivers has a great flamethrower.

@hatking: IIRC, Far Cry 2 initially had unhinged-ass fire physics, but during playtesting they realized that once you set something on fire it would spread through the whole world and take out the Big Bad, given enough time. Likely apocryphal, dunno if that's backed up anywhere, but it's a funny idea, at least.

Many Simpsons games have a pretty sick Burns.

You could upgrade the starting builder unit in Company of Heroes to be equipped with flamethrowers and use them to rush the enemy base because flamethrowers do more damage to buildings. I think they also did a lot of damage to regular infantry, too. Not a very balanced game.

This is also not what I wanted from this thread, but since I'm already here, I'll say Borderlands 2. When you light the midgets on fire, they scream "I smell deeeeeeeliciousssss!". Gets me every time.

Seeing the full video of when that Jordanian pilot was executed with fire has kind of killed a lot of the joy I used to find in fire. That said, Killzone 2 had a good one.

Title made me think about the sick burn in the Witcher 2 prologue, where you find a dead assassin in Assassins Creed garb, that missed a haybale after jumping from a tower.
