When the first Assassin's Creed came out I was astounding by how different and compelling the game was to say the least. Now it's becoming the definition of a recycle series. I really felt no noteworthy difference between Creed 2 and Brotherhood, besides the lackluster multiplayer and the "Brotherhood" mechanic thing there was no real change. Creed I to Creed II was more of a difference, but I got sick of it halfway through and I moped through the later half of the games. They also said that the main story would be a trilogy, and we don't know if this new game is the closer or just another ".5" game. I don't think I can hang in there long enough to finish out the trilogy. So in other words, the series is getting milked. /rant
Sick of Assassin's Creed yet?
I kinda don't like them going the yearly release approach but the games have been getting consistently better. This one may be the one to change that, but I'm not sure. I'll play the new one anyways because they haven't messed up yet.
Not at all, I wouldn't even mind a few more games as long as they don't turn it into a Guitar Hero or Call of Duty type franchise.
Brotherhood felt pointless and was boring to me. So, yes I'm sick of it. Never should of been a annual series. One game with Ezio was perfect, now the're making a third. Geez.
I played 1 and 2 both in 2011 and I haven't played Brotherhood yet. All I know is that I really, really want to get Brotherhood. So I guess I'm not sick of it yet.
No way, Brotherhood was great fun and i'm really looking forward to the new one. It's such a stylish game.
Yeah, sort of. A year is not a very long time. To think that another AC game is coming out in less than six months doesn't sit too well with me. It doesn't help that they're using Ezio now for the third fucking time and that the gameplay will basically be identical with the exception of a couple new features being added.
So yeah, I dunno man. I might pass on Revelations. Wake me up when AC3 is on its way.
If they got rid of pretty much all the characters, the stupid outfits and all the unnecessary clunky equipment (just give me the stuff that has "hidden" in their name) and fixed the ragdoll (give me Euphoria!) then probably not.
Nope. I'm still totally on board with these games. The change from game to game is roughly on par with most other popular game franchises. The only difference is they've been releasing one every year instead of every 2-3. I can understand fatigue setting in due to the frequent release cycle, but I can't get behind the claims that the series isn't changing enough from game to game. They found a working formula, so they're going to keep adding to and improving on that formula until sales start to drop. When that happens hopefully they'll be smart enough to give the franchise a break before they drive it into the ground. I'm not saying anyone has to like that business model, but such is the cycle of many blockbuster franchises.
I didn't really enjoy AC1, the repetition was annoying, stunning game otherwise but there wasn't much going on, i just ran around, then i saw the first couple of images and videos for AC2 and the setting etc pushed me to finish AC1 which at least got better towards the end when you realise what the fuck the fiction is but its not a great game, or at least a really repetitive great game
really really enjoyed AC2, from start to finish, played through it in a couple of days, which shows my interest considering AC1 took me 2 years to complete, the second games story and narrative was perfectly paced, the premise/story is amazing and reminds you why games are great, you couldn't really get away with it in other media, similar to the half life series and metal gear series, its perfectly suited to gaming
got brotherhood a couple months ago and got a couple hours in and left it, its still great but instead of the AC2 unfolding fast paced narrative it just sets you down in Rome which doesnt immediately appeal as Florence and Venice did and its just "you're an assassin now time for work" the mystery seems to have left the franchise which put me off it, i've read there's some equally crazy ending as AC2 so i'll definitely play it and its a great game anyway, mechanically its a fun game to play which is why it does so well
i think my main attraction to AC2 was the setting, as i found myself not running around on rooftops as i had in AC1 but actually walking around the streets of a really vibrant interpretation of Venice/Florence, and its probably why i dont really like ACB in that Rome seems too dull and large so i end up just running around getting from place to place instead of absorbing it all, fortunately the setting in ACR looks intriguing so it might just be Rome, and even then there are some amazing experiences like the first time i was walking around and stumbled upon the Pantheon
i'll push on with brotherhood and depending on how much story is delivered i'll see about getting revelations; as much as i like ezio, far more than desmond and altair, i don't really care too much to continue his story which this trilogy-within-a-trilogy is unless it ties in with the larger trilogy as a whole
more than anything i'm looking to see what they do for AC3, as good as these pseudo-sequels are a new game and new main character and resolution to the story is the most important thing to me
I'd love to get sick of Assassin's Creed lol but my girl has not finished Brotherhood yet. :(I'm just going to steal it from her.
Wait, if there wasn't a lot of change between II and Brotherhood, then what the hell are you complaining about? They're the same damn game, so it's hard to levy complaints against one game without levying the same complaints against the other.
Sick of EzioYeah I am interested in Revelations. It is cool that Ubisoft builds upon the last title with improved tech and smoother gameplay mechanics, as well as introducing some little nice touches along the way.If they just went COD(improved little to nothing, slap on a short ass campaign and be done)I would give up but Ubisoft knows what they are doing. The only thing I want is a new Assassin which I hope ACIII brings. At least give Altair some back story shed some light on his unexistent personality.
Hell no, loved 1 2 and Brotherhood and I can't wait to get the questions answered that the previous games threw at me.
Then when those ends are all tied up I'll sit down and wait for Assassin's Creed 3
I really felt no noteworthy difference between Creed 2 and Brotherhood, besides the lackluster multiplayer and the "Brotherhood" mechanic thing there was no real change.I consider refining the mechanics of AC2 to be noteworthy, the brotherhood mechanic was pretty awesome imo, and I still go back and play that "lackluster" multiplayer a few times a month because it is so fun....
