Sleekest external design this generation of consoles
I think the Xbox was the prettiest of the three, mostly because it looks a bit alien.
But the sleekest design easily goes to the PS3. Wii would have a better shot if it didn't have that stand making it look like a crashing monolith.

It's called industrial design and I pick the Wii because it's simply beautiful. I don't even own one. The PS3 is really ugly and cumbersome. The 360 looks like a cheap piece of metal.
I disagree with that. I think the Wii is cheap and plasticy looking. The slim PS3 is very solidly built... i love it. Very minimalistic looking too. The original PS3 was fairly ugly and heavy. And I agree all the 360 designs are just ugly.
I also prefer actual buttons rather than touch sensitive. I'm glad they changed that from the original PS3 to the Slim. And then Microsoft went in reverse and removed the buttons on their slim. Hate it... turn it on accidently all the time when I'm cleaning around it.
And we can just leave this here I guess... I think it looks uglier than the original Slim. Don't much care for the bevels on top and it looks like its back to the shiny dust magnet material. The shape is nice tho.
Looks busted. Looks like two PS3 slims laid side by side. And the SSD version is exclusive to Europe... and merely 12 gigabytes. Does that mean you can use your own SSD replacement drive? Everything about this is so strange. 25% "lighter" who cares? The world record PS3 juggler? Looks barely smaller than current PS3, just janky looking.
White one looks like a VSYNC tear in the middle, and the black one looks shiny as all fuck, and like two seperate smaller consoles side by side.

The new PS3 looks uglier, I agree. I think you have a point there, the slim is actually a good looking piece of hardware, I'm looking at it right now. I just hate the way the buttons are located in the console, they are horrible, they aren't very useful anyway I guess. The reason I like the Wii is because of how small and simple it is. It's a white box with a line and a blue light. It's minimalistic and very functional in terms of where you put it. It also takes a very nostalgic and traditional console design and modernizes it. The NES is iconic, the Wii tries to be and may be in the future. It's a timeless design.

The European version is Flash memory, not SSD. It still has a hard drive slot on it for people who want to throw one in later.
PS3 and especially PS3 slim. I enjoy the 360 slim but it just feels like an imitation of the PS3 slim. The Wii is also appealing but so basic in design that it's hard to compare it to the Sony-box. The OG 360 was something I appreciated until it broke so_many_times I learned to hate the design.
I voted for the Wii, because it seemed like the most no-nonsense of the three. It doesn't indulge on curves or different surface materials. It's a solid white box meant for you to stuff games in.
Otherwise, I would've voted for the PS3, especially the newer, slimmer model. But every time I look at the older model out in my living room, I'm reminded that, for some reason, every PlayStation after the PS2 has had a smaller horizontal base than the rest of the unit. I don't know why. Maybe someone thought it would be a distinguishing feature? Maybe so that there was only one correct way to sit the console vertically? I don't know. What I do know is that I think it's silly, and that's why the PS3 didn't get my vote.
I remember being really impressed by the Wii, just because of how dainty it was, and I thought the glowing blue disc drive was really cool.
The original PS3 was half slick, half way too large. The original 360 was ugly and thoughtless. The PS3 slim is a bit bland, the 360 slim is quite nice, but dammit... the Wii.
But fuck all of those, the original PS2 with vertical stand is the coolest looking console ever made. I DON'T SEE IN GENERATIONS YO

I give you the Atari Falcon computer:
My console of choice is PS3, but even I have to admit the XB360 had the best overall design/look...except for that damn power brick. The idea of the face-plates seemed very cool at the time, I think their BIGGEST mistake was overpricing the standard plates and not having more special edition or limited edition plates.
The red slim PS3 (Japan only? God of War special edition?) combined with a white 360 S (hard to find, was in stores like five months ago, but likely being held off until holiday season) and the super rare sky blue Walmart Wii from black friday would be a neat All-American RW&B setup.
I think the silver, batarang, multi-hdmi, skyscraper looking PS3 is the best design of any console. Original NES a close second. That wasn't "sleek" or anything, but served its purpose to look extreme and unlike VHS/betas and other electronic devices at the time.
