So Alex is moving to New York...

My initial thought is, "Uh-oh, unleashed Rorie". I fuckin' love the dude but he strikes me as needing a tempering force at times.

well it sounds like its what he wants, and kudos to the crew for accommodating the move so I guess it isn't too bad.  Just have to wait and see how much he still ends up contributing, I really hope it's a good amount as Alex is one of the guys I remember watching way back when I was younger on gamespot, and its neat to still watch his videos now.  I've always liked his on screen personality, and the few times he joins in on the bombcast I love it.

Is neat to see GB expanding; there'll be a bomb in every state soon enough! As for Alex leaving, it does kinda suck since he rapidly went from being an occasional cameoster to virtually a full on GB staff member. He made for some great Kinect quick looks and fitted the bill of still being ''that guy who plays a lot of really bad games''. Overall, though, I much prefer him through his writing anywhoo, and think he's  the best writers in WM atm, so I'll quickly get used to it.

I doubt their setting up a east coast office but I think he will still be a contributer. This site just got a  little less cynical jk..

bah....he'll be back within the year. If I've watched the correct amount of sitcoms, Alex's "true love" will break his heart and force him to move away from NYC in order to rejoin the rest of the cast and realize that true love was right in front of him all along.






So I guess this means he "officially" works for Giantbomb.com now.....

If this means more editorial content, I'm totally cool with it.

I say bring on Rich as an "East Coast Correspondent".

It's unfortunate. His presence in the Happy Hour, Quick Looks, etc. will be missed but if he spends more time writing that's fine with me- It's always a pleasure to read. All the luck to him over here on the beast coast and happy to see that WM kept him signed on.

does this mean that screened is going to be just matt rorie now, or has somebody filled his spot?

also, i feel genuinely sad about this decision. i hope he has a good reason, as navarro is one of the better staff members at whiskey media who isn't directly part of giantbomb.

Whiskey Media really needs an official presence on the East Coast. It's my favorite coast.

Its gonna be sad to not see him interact with the others physically (not dirty) anymore.

This is kind of a bummer but now Screened will have someone in NYC, where all the movies first come out.

This is a good thing, Whiskey Media is expanding.

If he wants to head to the least coast, then that's fine by me.

Personally I've never been a huge Alex fan, but I think this decision is a positive one (and not for jerkish reasons). I think Alex really excels in his writing more than his camera presence.

I mean if he is making the move it is probably best for him, and so it can only be best for the rest of the sites.
