I bought it sealed at a thrift store for $3 and it works fine (except for the part where there's no CD key) but I think it's a pirated copy. I've never seen a Diablo II disc before but I assume they don't look burned and I thought it was a 2 disc game, not 3.
So I think the copy of Diablo II I bought is pirated...
It's too bad that you didn't get a key. Now days, you just enter the key on the website, and download the game to the PC, no disc required. I've got the battle chest and I've never touched the discs. Still, 3 bucks to play diablo isn't a bad deal, even if you've got to use the CD.

Exactly. I think I ended up buying a pirated/generated cd key for my Starcraft and Diablo 2 battlechest. I already had my disc copy of D2 linked to my blizzard account, and I wanted to add SC and the D2 expansion, but that shit is still many dollars each. So I looked online for a place to buy keys for these games since I've had luck with similar (legal) sites in the past. It accepted my SC keys and my D2 expansion key fine and let me play online with both of those, so I have the extra D2 regular key to a buddy of mine. He was able to link it to his Blizzard account to download the game, but when he tried to go online it said that Blizzard had banned the key already." @birdflu777: Paying $40 for a game thats 10 years old is kind of stupid. "
I don't really have much of a problem. SPOILER WARNING: Click here to reveal hidden content." ...and the problem? "
I'll find a keygen or something and enjoy the game.
You've reminded me of something:
My copy of Quake II for the PlayStation doesn't have that black-tint that PlayStation discs normally have. And yet it's a totally legit Sony copy. What's up with that?
