What did you get for Christmas folks?
I'm still waiting for my parents to wake up so I can open them, I wanna play some Donkey Kong Country!!!

HD Vision Glasses, which are awesome... and Castlevania Judgement.  Which, if you ignore the look, and the camera angles, and the story and butchering of the characters, is playable.  My brother did it on purpose.

What are HD Vission Glasses?

As far as gaming goes, a lot of Steam stuff I'll probably never finish and a couple 360 games. "Santa" might also cave and get me Battlefield BC2: Vietnam.
Outside of gaming, Santa broke the bank on an airsoft rile he really should not have bought for me. But he's generous that way.

Another day to go to work on.

#7 Posted by Skytylz (4077 posts) -

My parents got me a Kindle (we open our gifts on Christmas Eve because tomorrow is chaos with people everywhere).  I haven't read anything yet, but it seems really cool.  Any public domain book suggestions would be great if anyone would be so kind!

My family doesn't open presents until Christmas morning... BUT... I know Santa's Amazon.com password and it looks like I got a Kindle and Epic Mickey (which I'm actually excited about despite Ryan's review).

Tested crew used them a while back... I think it was back on the BLLSL.  Basically shades, but it seems like they beef up the contrast on everything so it's easier to see than normal shades.  Perfectly wearable at night, for instance.

An xbox360 S, with Red dead. Well, okay Santa didn't exactly give them to me, I waited until he landed on the roof and set up an elaborate trap (Scooby doo style). The console and game was for his freedom.. (I still have his left ear.........)

Toilet paper.... no I'm serious my parents wrapped toilet paper and handed it to me.  Luckily there was a $100 bill inside and also got $50 from my mom, a nice leather jacket, and an Ipod touch (but my dad gave that to me a week ago).  Good Christmas overall.

We being smart people opened up on xmas eve, it's 3 am right now. I got money and gift cards, which was nice, but I also got a lot of really cool clothing that'll make my hipster friends rage with jealousy.
I also got a badass book called Clint: A Retrospective. Which is just a fucking awesome looking book about Clint Eastwood. Can't wait to dive into that.
I also got some good French trip-hop and DJ-mixey stuff on CD from my French side of the family. I got Birdy Nam Nam, Chinese Man Records Groove Sessions, Wax Tailor live, and also a crazy french hip-hop/musette group called Java. Saw them live this summer with my cousin, and I was really diggin' it.
A family friend having an xmas dinner with us, after hearing me bitch about having to use a pot to boil water for my french press coffee maker, got me a really nice kettle, the kind that'll last forever, really heavy restaurant duty kinda thing. I've never been so happy for a kettle, but yeah I'ma make hella coffee with that.
I also bought myself The Social Network soundtrack on vinyl record while I was xmas shopping. So goddamn good, I think it's my favorite overall album this year, soundtrack or otherwise. And I'm not even a big Reznor fan.

What card? Oh, and I got a ton of clothing. I didn't ask for anything so I didn't really expect anything. As lame as a lot of people think it is, clothing is actually a really practical gift.

Anachronox, which is pretty neat. But it crashes a lot.
Shadow Hearts Covenant, I haven't started it yet and probably won't for a long time.
A gift card, with which I plan to buy a couple of games tomorrow.
Two shirts.
An electric razor.

I'll have to see when we open presents after dinner tomorrow (today). I'm 90% sure I'll be getting a PS3 with a game or two, but other than that, probably just Cataclysm and a couple shirts.

#42 Posted by MattBosten (512 posts) -

A couple of shirts, about 3-4 crates of beer and £120 cash. Also got the traditional socks from the grandparents.

#43 Posted by cjmabry (515 posts) -

I got a laptop about a month ago, so Christmas I just got little things. I got some money to go pick up a game though, so I'm thinking NBA 2K11 on 360 and then hoping I  have enough dough to get through January 2nd on Steam XD.
But had an awesome Christmas overall. The first white Christmas here in 17 years and I just looked outside and we have like 4 inches, which is a LOT for where I live. It's surreal. Hope everyone had an awesome Christmas, too.

Santa didn't bring me anything, never showed up that fat bastard. But on the other hand my Wife, parents, in-laws, grandmothers and fathers did so i'm a happy camper.
But i got, a GTX 460,
8GB RAM 1600mhz,
Assassins Creed Brotherhood
13 CD's
Alien Anthology on blu-ray
Predator trilogy on blu-ray
Columbo season 9 and 10
A blanket that actually fits my damn hight, so i don't have to sleep with my feet sticking out, which is fucking cold right now as we are having -7 to -10 degrees outside.
And then my crazy wife had gone and bought me a iPad in the name of my newly born daughters name.
So yeah i got fucking spoled this christmas, like a little rich kid, which is so ironic. But i guess good things do happen to good people once in a while.
Truth is the presents weren't the best thing about my Christmas eve, it  was being with my family, the awesome food and the good laughs.

@SSully:  Well, there's been seven different versions of the film. Some very different from the others. Hell, Ridley Scott didn't get to do a true Director's Cut until 2007, 25 years after it came out. I'm a bit of an obsessive Blade Runner fan so it's nice to have a complete collection. Plus there's tons of bonus material along with a three and a half documentary on the film.
#47 Posted by Gamer_152 (14325 posts) -

Copied from the Christmas Loot Thread:
New jacket.
New shirt.
Some chocolate.
Vanquish for Xbox 360.
Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood for Xbox 360.
Super Mario Galaxy 2 for Wii.
Super Meat Boy for PC.
The Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom for the PC.
The Humble Indie Bundle #2 for the PC.
And I'll probably get a late present or two.

I'm older so all I got were clothes which is fine with me because it saves me the trouble of having to shop for them myself.  That's something I detest.  I'm one of those lazy-stingy people who hates shopping for the necessities.  So, if someone who loves me does it for me, then so much the better.  It's a win-win situation because I get to spend my money on stuff I like and wear underwear that doesn't date back to the Reagan administration.
