which is the best 3D sonic game the one that started the all adventure or the current game sonic generations that raised the bar and explain why !

Sonic Adventure 2. The original Sonic Adventure was trash in it's day and is trash now.

I liked Sonic Adventure 2 Battle on the Gamecube as a kid. I also had Adventure DX Director's Cut (why such fucking stupid names?) on the Gamecube, and liked it, but not as much because the remake of the original Sonic Adventure had you play as Big the Cat. Who the fuck thought it was a good idea to put fishing in a damn Sonic game?

It's worth pointing out that any praise Sonic Generations got was mostly pointing towards its 2D bits. And, frankly, the 3D Sonic games have all sucked. I have gone back and tried to play some of those old Sonic Adventure games and... yep, those games are not great.

Sonic Adventure 2 because it fixed a lot of the problems with Sonic Adventure 1. Not only that but it brought the grinding mechanic that is still used in every Sonic game since. Yeah we also got Shadow from it but he was a good character in that game that actually died an honorable death. To bad the "fans" wanted him back of course.

Then theres the points system. Depending on how good you did in a level you would get a rank (just like in the new ones). But in SA2 almost everything you did would build up a combo like from homing attacking several enemies and then jumping on a grind and then beat up some more enemies would make a chain that game you more points. It was like playing the old Tony Hawk games but it was a Sonic game.

Oh and they got rid of BIG the cat as a playable character.

It just felt like a more focused experience on what made SA1 FUN to play.

Sonic Generations by far. Sonic Adventure was fun when it was first released. But those mechanics don't hold up at all. Generations has good mechanics. It's just that sometimes the level design wasn't great.

Sonic Generations due to superior variety, level design, sense of speed, and visual appearance (due to age - unless you prefer ultra dense rose-o-vision goggles to get the nostalgia feeling going).

I'm gonna have to say Generations on this. I only played a few levels when over at a friend's room in college, but it was the most fun I've had in a Sonic game in a long time. Good controls, nice sense of speed and has better level design and music than the Adventure games ever had. Not that I didn't like the Adventure games back than, just now I look back and may understand why Jeff made fart sounds when hearing that Adventure 2 and NiGHTS were being released that week.

No contest, Generations. It's an unfair comparison, really. Adventure is from a different era. It was acceptable at the time, but it's garbage now.

No-one else play Sonic Colours on the Wii? That game was PRETTY GOOD. That's the highest praise I can heap onto a 3D Sonic game.

I still stand by Colors, Adventure 2, and Generations being solid, 4/5 games. The other 3D Sonics...not so much.
