Sony intend on bringing non-PlayStation classics to its digital download service PlayStation Network. Sony aim to expand the range of classic titles available for PlayStation users to download, including titles originally published on non-Sony platforms - Nintendo and SEGA platforms. (non first party from Nintendo of course)
"In general there's a lot of discussion about [publishers'] back catalogs that will finally find its way to PlayStation Network in the back half of this year.
PSOne is included, but everything is on the table. We look for some of those big hits from all of the past games in their history and look for ways we can bring them over. It's not always easy. There's obviously technical areas that need to be bridged. But when those are solved, consumers will see a wide variety of retro games and brand new games coming to PSN."

Sony Aims To Bring Non-Playstation Games to PSN
They need to start bringing over the same games that are on Japan's PlayStation Store over to other regions. I heard Policenauts is on the Japan store, I'd love to play that game! (English version of course). Sony could be making a lot of money if they put a bunch of PS2 titles on the PSN. It's probably coming someday, but I think the time they took on Home was time they could have put into bringing older games to the PSN instead.
It's nice that they are planning for other games to appear on the store though.
Just like bru says id rather they spend more money and time actually bringing their own games onto the service including ones all ready on the service in japan then games i likely wont ever play on the ps3 since i can play them much easier, faster and free else where.
Yeah there's still a load from Japan that should be here already. When the hell is Einhander coming out, Japan has had it for ages.
F it dude, don't concern yourself with it, It's not like any of this shit matters anyway. If it does, +1, because you have a point.
"Love that, minus 1 for saying pretty much what bru said."And also the same thing as the article -- it says they're doing both. Although the article seems to focus on the PSP, not PS3. I can't say for sure, but if I were to guess I'd say the negative was likely due to the end where you implied piracy.
Nintendo will never allow it.
It would be cool if they could get all non-Nintendo published games from the Virtual Console and then some.
"Final Fantasy VI on my PSP? Yes, please."Dude, if they had the original 2D Final Fantasies, I'd be totally sold. I'm actually really considering getting a PSP after E3 (because they'll probably announce a new one).
