Sudden Influx of Spam Topics

What is with all these spam topics about watching sports live HD all of a sudden? I love me some sports, but the forums are starting to get flooded with them. I flag them when I see them, but now I can't flag anymore it says.

No Mods on the weekends?

You just need to send a pm to a Mod to reset your karma so you can flag again.

Just don't reply to them.

Tested has been hammered with this crap recently too. It's incredibly annoying.

You're supposed to be watching you some sports/playing you some games. Forums on a Sunday? Who ever heard of such a thing?

Anyway, you could always send the mods a PM but chances are they're not at their computers right now.

These things come and go, I really wish instead of locking these threads they would just get deleted though. Same with all locked threads, just delete them.

It's incredible how they found a way to let you download a game that hasn't even started yet.

Tested's been getting crazy amounts of spam too, logged in to see this a few hours ago and there's still a bunch of spam left:

This smells like an inside job to me

I messaged Sweep on Steam and let him know, looks like it's being taken care of. Dave'll have to figure out something to avoid having this happen in the future, though.

Has anyone looked at the account creation page recently? Is there any form of Captcha or anything? Cause these are clearly all bots. It's been so long since I made my account I can't remember if GB has any validation but shiiit they need to step it up.

Plus, as I've said for so long they should just ban new users from making threads so they couldn't mess up the front page like this. Just make it a post requirement or whatever. It doesn't even matter that much.

They are deleting them, hence the ones with the blank "last post" which 404 when you click em.

@Chavtheworld: I agree with you. It's gotten to the point where if I see a green name with no avatar and a few posts I assume spam even if it is a new user.
