The death of the single player game (Thanks VGAs)

 
So Uncharted 2 won GOTY at the VGAs. I had been rooting for Batman, because it was a full-on single player game *and* a complete product. 
 
(No DLC we're forced to buy to get the full game)
 
Instead, we get a game with a pointless, tacked on multi-player mode winning that is just going to add fuel to the fire and convince every other company to do the same thing. 
 
(See Bioshock 2 and Dead Space 2 for the continuing trend - MGS 4 was bad enough but these do *not* need it)

You are saying a game deserved to win a game of the year award- over another - becuase it DIDNT have an extra game mode?

There was DLC you had to buy to play all of Uncharted 2's campaign?  

 Yes, except for the fact that Uncharted 2 was probably the best single-player game I've played this generation. And the multiplayer is anything but "tacked on."
 
In my opinion, of course. Plus, I wouldn't give the VGAs that much credit. They suck, and from what I can tell...everyone knows it.

I'm pretty sure i played through Uncharted 2, three times without buying any DLC, matter of fact i still haven't bought any DLC for it? so please clarify what you mean by that.

I'm saying one deserved to win over another because more time and care was spent on the game, rather than haphazardly adding crap that didn't need to be added, thus taking time and resources away from the single player and gimping it. "

Also this, why complain about an award show when the winners were chosen by users and this show not really an award show?

its more then just having multiplayer.. its having GREAT multiplayer that makes a game better and uncharted has maybe the best multiplayer this year out side of MW2

1) Does this by proxy mean the challenge rooms in Batman detracted from the single player campaign 
 and 
2) Whats your opinion of fallout 3? That 60+ hour single player detailed rpg

A) I am not trolling B) That's exactly the problem - the inevitability of MP where it doesn't need to be. C) Single player is going to start existing at the expense of the MP, and that's the problem. "

It's a shame that Batman had such a gimped single-player story. Think of all the time and resources they spent on challenge rooms, which was still incomplete given all the DLC.

With DLC that you were not only forced to buy to get a complete story, but DLC which you had to buy to get the complete ending (Just like the most recent Prince of Persia)  Fail. "

Right. We all better start hating on games with multiplayer so other games stop getting multiplayer. 
 
UC2 has a fucking incredible single-player. That's why it won.

 Batman is better because it's a more focused, finished, ungimped product. "
