What game do you just love, and why, has been publicly sodomized for being terrible?
The game is shit, but you love it.
" Enter The Marix. Why? I have no idea. "haha, yea man, the combat system was crazy! Still is!
Kane & Lynch. Everything besides the gameplay is fantastic. A real tragedy in every sense of the word.
Ace Combat games .... I think this games have never been liked by critics , they always complain about the story being hard to follow (seriously?) as a matter of fact in on Ace Combat 4 review they thought that the character that was narrating the game was the player , while in cut scenes you see him as a kid!!!!..... go figure .... they always complain about the floor textures and how according to them you crash into it because of "bad texturing" while ignoring the altimeter ..... that the in mission radio voices are in a way a bad thing , which is totally untrue and makes the mission more exiting as you begin to hear the enemies talking about you in fear .... a great feeling of immersion if you ask me ....
I know this games aint total garbaget nor qualify as such but is the closest Ive been to a game that could be considered "bad" ..... now when we talk about good games that I just hate well I have a huge list i.e. Zelda games....
" Blue Dragon. Critically, it reviewed well, but people still like to shit on it. "
Oh yea the game with a billion discs?! Dude you think its worth getting in from a bargain bin these days?
Dynasty Warriors, some critics like it but I don't think that series is exactly loved. Uh I know there's something else lemme think about it. I'll edit it in when it comes to me. I have a vivid image of clipping halfway through a door or something... This is totally gonna bother me.

Wasnt that guy in the game?
Path of Neo
I wouldn't say "love", but I did enjoy Hydrophobia. I played through the game almost three times. If your the kind of person that doesn't care much about physics in games, then you will most likely hate it.

Maybe it was my subconscious forcing me to like it because I bought it out of my own allowance. Then again, the game was out for awhile and I bought it used around $20. Hey, I don't like wasted investments.
I will always have a place in my heart for Future Cop LAPD. It makes absolutely no sense, however I can never say no to how much fun I personally had with it.
@ZeForgotten: For good measure that is the reason why I put the "most likely" part in the end of my sentence. I honestly find it good to hear someone saying something positive about that game.
Now to get back on-topic. Another title that has come to mind is Bomberman Hero.
" Mission Impossible for the N64. Definitely nostalgia glasses goin' on but I enjoyed it. "
I loved that and Operation Surma. Gamespot shat on both.
" @astromanz: Hey! How did you know I was Hugo Weaving!? "DONT YOU HAVE A FUCKING HEART?!
Going by some of the savage scores it received, I'm gonna have to say the Xbox 360 version of Sonic Unleashed.
Beyond that, I'll say The Matrix: Path of Neo and the first Bubsy game. Also: Total Overdose.
I keep seeing this game all-over the place for like $10." @JJOR64:
Any game with this song deserves a little ridicule. lol
"
Every-time I feel tempted I find this song and my mind snaps back.
If I get more tempted, I check the achievements list and I cry.
It's really depressing because I love JRPG's, and adored Lost Odyssey (#S Rank)
Do we mean shit as in bad, or shit as in received a poor aggregate score? Because I don't like bad games :( I did like The Whispered World though. (Gamerankings = 70.86)

"I don't think anyone sensible would call Ace Combat shit, but the review scores on Metacritic would have you believe it's a relatively mediocre franchise.
Well I think Ace Combat is one of the best franchises ever. The sheer amount of fun I had with Ace Combat 5 was nothing short of staggering. I mean, it's successful enough to have its own derivative clone. That has to count for something.
All I can remember is loving this game to bits, and having my friends hating on it because it was "complicated". I remember that, and using cheats for infinite landmines. I'd pile them up for about 5 minutes, then lure an enemy AI into them. The game would partially freeze while calculating the explosion, then slowly, oh so slowly, stutter back on track while sending the enemy vehicle into the air at ludicrous speed. The burned out carcas could come down to hit the ground up to a minute later.
It was glorious.
