Now that all the consoles have different "controllers" (that detect motion), do you think that multi-platform development will be effected?
Will it be very difficult for developers to create a similar experience on each console?
The Problem With New Motion Sensing Technology
No. People use to think that about the Wii, when it was coming out. Most people just might see it as a gimmick.
Since the control schemes for 360 and PS3 are optional, i think the extent of multiplatform moves will be wii games ported (read: shoehorned) onto the other consoles. there is little to no motivation for developers to use those extra schemes on the PS3 and 360 when few people will have the equipment necessairy.
Can you imagine playing gears of war just standing in the middle of the room without a controller in your hand ? Think about it....
It looks like the three motion control schemes are different enough so that games couldn't be ported over to other systems. I'd be happy to have someone with more factual knowledge correct me on this, but they seem pretty different. Looks like the devs are just going to have to come up with creative ideas and play to each system's strengths. Imagine that!

The real problem is playing video games is turning into exercise, which goes against my I-feel-lazy-and-want-to-sit-and-play-video-games-all-day mentality.
