Phantasmagoria: A Puzzle of Flesh

The first one was sooooo good. My girlfriend and I loved it. When she found out they made a sequel, I was excited, thinking we might see Dave and Vinny play through another hilariously cheesy horror game.

Unfortunately, the sequel stepped up the violence and sexual content, according to most sources I've seen on it, including more nudity, child abuse, and implied oral sex. We'll probably never see it on the site. Does anyone have any experience with the game or know any of its highlights?

I remember watching a substantial amount of Spoony's play-through before burning out on his uninspired commentary. I mean, I don't dislike the guy, so no one get annoyed or anything.

To this day that is my favorite thing he's ever done. The game is just so weird on basically every level that the jokes write themselves.

The "child abuse" is hilariously ham acted scenes of the main character's mother supposedly trying to stab him and make him wear dresses. There's also a crazy dominatrix and bondage club, a mysterious pharmaceutical totally-not-at-all-evil corporation, and a strange subplot wherein you find out that the main character is bisexually attracted to said bondage queen and his gay best friend. Its so odd, so totally out there, that it is brilliant in every way. Also, the woman who played the main character's girlfriend went back to doing softcore cable porn after shooting the game. Yep.

I want this to happen. So much.

I remember watching the whole thing, I found it hilarious. Would love to see Vinny and Dave do it.

The nudity in that game isn't that bad, nothing near an R rated movie. I'd sat that violence is on the same level has the first one but it's more frequent I think. And President_Barackba pointed that the child abuse are just hilariously ham acted scenes. Nothing incredibly graphic.

Also : Yay for Spoony! I really like his videos! His Ripper Let's Play is even better. Any FMV game featuring Christopher Walken is automatic comedy gold.

Ginatbomb just needs to hire a few porn stars and shoot their own phantasmagoria. Claim the WM building is haunted by some gold rush 49ers or a phantom bar tender.

Spoony did a playthrough that was hilarious, but that was back when he was actually funny. A long time ago. I'd love to see GB do it though, their playthrough of Phantasmagoria was incredible.

The gf and I are going to watch the Spoony playthrough tonight. Having no experience with this guy (and never watching any Let's Plays besides the ERs) I'm hesitant. I think as long as I don't expect him to be as entertaining as Vinny and Dave, it'll be okay; I'm sure the terribleness of this game will more than make up for that.

As others have said, Spoony has you covered. I would love to see Dave and Vinny take a crack at it though. The content isn't really that bad, probably on par with the first, maybe a little worse depending on where your sensitivities lie.

There's a played straight (since the game really provides the crazy) subtitled SA LP as well, if you're not into Spoony's sense of humor.

I would absolutely love to see Dave and Vinny tackle it. I'm not sure if it has a hint skull though, so it would probably involve more walking around in circles.

Content's the same level. Less plasticine faces, more terrible Hellraiser make-up. There's plenty more nudity and "adult situations" though. So, uh, ask a parent?

I played this a couple weeks ago, it's complete crap. Phantasmagoria at least attempted to be a game and had cool over the top deaths near the end. Phantasmagoria 2 is essentially a boring B moving that takes place 90% in a office cubicle. There are some tits, but then all the death scenes are off camera and lame. A dude gets killed by being casually squeezed to death by computer cables, some chick is killed and you see some blood drip on the ground. It was really disappointing. They also didn't even attempt to green/blue screen the actors into a CG world, it just pictures of a cubicle set. The first game was bad, but in an entertaining way. The second game is just bad as in boring, I doubt even Vinny and Dave could make it fun like they did with the first game.

Random PC game is the best thing on the site now that Vinny isn't part of the ER, I just want more whether it is this game or not. But yes that Phatasmagoria one is probably the best video they've done.

I DEMAND MORE VINNY! VINNY IN EVERYTHING PLEASE!!

I would like to see them do a mini-ER where they take a bunch of short old games and play through them.

Thanks for that. I really couldn't get into Spoony. We're watching through this one, instead.

I hope they play it, maybe even finish it if it's of similar length to the first?
