The TNT change up

Sounds fucking awesome and maybe a tad overdue,

Looking forward to Dead Island, and more Scrub league, would be cool to see some older RTS's played over LAN in the office,

What are some of the things you'd be up to watch?

I haven't heard much about it, could you link me to some information about it or explain the changes to me?

@KarlPilkington: Latest Bombcast last two minutes they said that TNT is having a change up, they'll stop just doing the latest thing and do more of what they want to do, like this week it'l be Co-Op dead island played by 4 of the staff instead of playing with the community, there will still be community involvement but it'l be things like chat, and when they have a game that they can play with the community, also, TNT will be where the timeslot that the scrub league will take up when they have one, which is cool

@KarlPilkington: They explain it at the end of this week's bombcast.

Basically, they're not always going to be playing competitively with members of the community; instead opting sometimes to do in-house co-op or tourneys, think more Scrub-League type stuff.

Sounds good, Dead Island tonight though.....been trying to put off getting this. Thought I had no interest in it then I watched QL, managed to spot my self buying it last weekend because I was busy. This will just make me order it while I'm watching.

I'd love more scrub leagues if they're in the tournament style of the MK one. I enjoyed the pacman one as well, it's just I find a knockout tournament more interesting.

Good. I always hated it, for instance on the SSFIV TNTs, when 90% of the time we're just watching 2 random, not so great random people play in a laggy match. I don't wanna see that! I want to see the GB crew fight eachother and have fun with it which then we all enjoy more.

This actually makes me want to watch TNT.

Yeah, good of them to mix it up a bit, I was really tired of the old format. Don't get me wrong, it had some great moments, like the Nuts&Bolts one, but a lot of games don't make entertaining video, especially the many FPS's that were featured.

Looking forward to more Scrub-leagues and in-office coop.

Revamping Happy Hours and TNT is a great idea. They sort of evolved into sort of a mess.

As much as I would of loved a Space Marine TNT I guess this is a good change. Guessing next week will be GoW3.

Great idea but I'm concerned that they won't let Vinny play Dead Island because they for some reason think it's better that he sits in the control room for live shows, even though Drew can handle it by himself, possibly with help from Joey and Ana.

Everything can be reduced to "it's this other thing but with another name". If you want that content so much, subscribe. If you think it's "dirty", don't subscribe. But stop complaining about stuff that's not even true. The TNT is free as always, period.

Lol, ya, a cool new feature where they replaced a soundcard in an arcade machine. Great FEATURE! It was a one off. BTW, the vyou stuff was never a feature on Giantbomb and the PC stuff is not a quicklook by virtue of being 2 hours long. Also not an ER because today they said they weren't playing Daggerfall again.

When's the TNT today?

As long as they don't cut down how long it is I'm good with it.

Jeff and the gang to a lot of stuff beside the site that many of us don't know of, this vyou channel were one of those in my case. A lot of information about news and new upcoming content often come from these other places rather than Giant Bomb. Suddenly you just see a thread about something there has been no official talk about. The bomb crew could do better marketing.

Hey, let's talk about TNT instead of completely unrelated stuff. I think this change is absolutely for the better. It will allow for more variety and help to keep things fresh and fun for us and them alike.

I think it's great that they're switching up the formula. TNT can get boring sometimes, I have just skipped one whole TNT and that was 3rd Strike with Jared. Awful.

I agree, sorry to take the troll bait, seeing people call the staff "dirty" and such always makes me angry.

I personally love TNT and the change sounds pretty great. Some of my favorite TNTs were the Starcraft ones that were Brad Vs. Norm so if this allows them to do more stuff like that then count me in. I'm currently in the process of watching the archived video of the TNT, and it was hilarious at first, but it's really irritating to watch after awhile. I think the change of the formula is a great thing, but every couple minutes it's just devolving into "griefing the other members of the GB crew for 2 hours." I'm sure it's fun for them but as a stream it's really not interesting to watch such jumbled and confused progress. (Especially because the main stream seems to be Brad's game, and he repeatedly falls behind streaming next to nothing.)

Yeah, I stopped watching about an hour and thirty minutes in. Still, I had more laughs than I have in any recent TNT. The changes are definitely needed, this was just a slight misstep. I will say one thing: The justin.tv stream looked like a blurry mess to me even with 720+. I couldn't tell what the hell was ever going on, and it's sort of a bummer than I can't watch the on-site version.

One of the few TNTs worth rewatching. Hilarious.

I've been bored to tears by the TNT for the past few weeks, I'm really sick of watching them play nothing but first person shooters, it just isn't fun to watch. This change up was great, in my opinion. If we have to watch more FPS, I'd much rather watch the guys play them on co-op and mess around a lot.

I rarely watch these unless it's something like an RTS or fighting game, because I think watching the 30 second cycle of a shooter play on repeat is pretty boring - but the griefing was fun.  I think Dead Island looks terrible, but watched the whole thing while I played Renegade Ops.  I would have never been able to watch it if it was just straight-laced playing with random people.  So, successful change-up to me.

Member only tournaments.

I support the change 100%. The older ones were pretty dull most of the time.

Thank the lord. TNT, neat idea to want to play with the community, but it is utterly boring to watch sometimes and the only people entertained by it are the handful of people that actually get to play on TNT.

Who doesn't like the new changes to TNT? The staff's enjoyment is our enjoyment. It's obvious none of the them enjoy sticking to routines, yet it's odd how it takes them months to actually do something about it. A different fighting, racing, or shooting game isn't going to solve TNT's problems. I think that it'd be smart of them to do stick with the co-op games instead of always competitive types of games which they seem to always do poorly at.

It was really good yesterday, atleast the Dirt 2 TNT where I win everything lives on.
