Valve is worst than EA, i mean they are just looking to monetize everything about their service. Which i can get behind but fuck.

FUCKING EMOTICONS

Valve and Nintendo are the two best developers on earth and whoever's number 3 isn't that close.

#2704 Posted by BaneFireLord (2908 posts) -

-Black Ops 2 has a more nuanced and effective choice system than Mass Effect

-Apart from the final two hours, Assassin's Creed III is the best in the series so far

David Cage makes bad games. Fahrenheit was especially bad.

I really don't care for Half Life 2 and I think that Dark Souls is one of the best games of this generation.

I like GTA.

Wait, are we talking about the first GTA here, or is this just shorthand for GTA V?

GTA 5's satire is actually pretty good.

Yup.
Especially if you go to the movies and watch Meltdown

@moon_frog: a 100 hour game will have luls, so if you play 2-4 hours a week, which is way more than some people, you will spend weeks or months on a certain grind, rather than a weekend.

Game of Thrones is boring-ass TV.

"I'm Denise of the dragonborn. I married a klingon. My dad fucked a dragon. -FAAAAART!-"

@zeforgotten: I prefer "The Loneliest Robot in Britain" but to each their own.

Artsy indie platformers with a single gimmick mechanic that try and be hyper-emotional are more tired and worn-out than modern military shooters.

I think you might be being a bit reductive, but you're right about modern military shooters, in the scheme of things, there's only a scant handful of modern military shooters.

Well yeah, but man. I really cant get behind these overly emotional indie games based on a single gimmick (most of them are platformers or super easy puzzle games)

The time for a new Half Life game has long since past.

The difficulty of games like Dota 2 and Dark Souls are very exaggerated.

No one cares about Zombies anymore.

EA's NHL series has been and always will be the best sports game. Also Hockey is the best sport.

Bioware fans are some of the most entitled people in all of gaming. The ending to Mass Effect 3 was fine, pre and post DLC. ME1 is entirely skippable.

Kingdom Hearts is a bad series.

Naughy Bear is ok for children.

Crash Team Racing is still better than any Mario Kart variant (Except Super Mario Kart of course)

Royals by Lorde needs to stop playing on the radio already. I would like some different music now please.

Oh and The Bureau: XCOM Declassified got better as it went on, not worse.

#2722 Edited by Phyrlord (171 posts) -

Console matchmaking systems trump PC server lists.

Depends on what your looking for, get up and go, yes. Community building? Hell no. Have you ever rolled on a random PC server for X game and stuck with that server for a year and made some of the best online buddies of your life with console match making? Nope.

#2723 Posted by Colorwind (230 posts) -
  • Sonic games are actually decent now ever since Sonic Colors.
  • The first Infamous isn't very good.
  • Sly Cooper is better than Jak and Daxter and Ratchet & Clank and Sly 2 is one of the best games on the PS2 (possible PS3).
  • The Devil May Cry series is terrible and DMC fans should thank Ninja Theory for making the only game worth playing in the franchise.
  • The Sega Saturn was better than the Nintendo 64.

Now that i've played a few hours of Legend of Zelda: Windwaker HD, I can honestly say that I miss the motion controlled combat of Skyward Sword.

I think Brad is annoying..... But every bomb needs a fuse lighter.

#2729 Posted by GnaTSoL (790 posts) -

Unreal championship 2, Phantom Dust, Halo 2....... Top 3 games of the original xbox from first to last.

And Phantom Dust is one of the greatest games of the last decade. OH hell yea......

Oh god. I forgot Bloody Roar EXtreme..... Take out Halo 2.....

#2730 Edited by CreepyUncleBrad (165 posts) -

Skyrim is boring and shallow, so was Oblivion.(Morrowind though, ohhhh baby, that gets my engines goin')

GTA V is GTA V and not the return of our lord and savior. (Horus for those wondering who our lord and savior is)

World of Warcraft improved drastically over time. (Though I haven't played since Cataclysm so maybe that's not true any more)

Okami is the best Zelda game. (Followed by Windwaker and Majora's Mask)

Giantbomb is for cannibals, pornographers and Nazi sympathizers. (HA! That one was a joke, what fun! Though I'm sure the occasional cannibal registers)

#2731 Posted by michaelferrari (23 posts) -

I have never cared much for Mario 64. (Although I do appreciate why it is important).

I think Half-Life is boring.

I don't think it matters if games are considered art or not.

I loved Majora's Mask.

#2732 Posted by michaelferrari (23 posts) -

@zolroyce: Dude.... I love Spirits Within too.... Especially the pre-Gears of War, Gears in it....

#2734 Edited by JohnTunoku (100 posts) -

Half life 2 is a boring game that hasn't aged well.

Super Mario Galaxy is too easy and simple to be fun.

Majora's Mask is probably the most overrated game on the internet and is the only Zelda game I've owned that I could never finish due to how tedious it was.

#2735 Edited by Vuud (1943 posts) -

Racing sims are actually more dull than watching real racing.

Empire Total War is the best title in the series.

There's nothing fun about unlocking shit in your video game or looking at menus, stop doing it.

Last of Us is boring gameplay with tropes cribbed from similarly themed movies draped over it.

I hate Vinny Caravella.

Okay that last one is a total joke. Relax.

  • Mayonnaise is awesome on chips (fries)
  • MGS: Peace Walker is the best in the series
  • Smash Bros is not a good fighting game, it is just a mess
  • Nintendo does not make good characters; it makes effective brands
  • I agree with Marcus Beer on some of his points regarding Phip Fish and Jon Blow vs. Journalist
  • I have never liked quick looks. I preferred the edited video review that GB were doing originally

The Joker is the most boring Batman villain, and doesn't need to be in every single Batman game ever.

#2738 Posted by L33T_HAXOR (240 posts) -

Resident Evil 4 sucks because you can't sidestep. Seriously, my character is a highly trained Secret Service agent, he's such a fucking badass that they send him ALONE to save the PRESIDENT'S DAUGHTER with no backup, and he doesn't know how to step side-ways??? What is this bullshit???

Correct. You win an ass-beating courtesy of Ganondorf (items off, Corneria stage)

#2743 Edited by ZeForgotten (10397 posts) -

@sackmanjones: I'm not sure if they play only at specific places.
The times are different though so it shows one type of movie for the "morning" one for "Middle of the day" and one at night.
I'm not sure if there are more than 3 movies either (Lonliest Robot, Capolavoro and Meltdown)

Also, Capolavoro is weird.
An Italian movie, where they speak french and spanish.
But here's probably another unpopular opinion: Capolavoro is a masterpiece!

#2744 Posted by SniperXan (223 posts) -

I really really liked Beyond: Two Souls... so much that I played it from beginning to end in one sitting (roughly 7 hours)

#2745 Posted by sgt_match (121 posts) -

@sniperxan: w00t! It gets a bazillion out of ten in the "well, I've never done THAT in a game before" category.
