The VGCW Discussion Thread

This is the place to talk about all things VGCW. That includes live streams, plot discussions, and much more. For those that need a reminder, VGCW is a Twitch live stream that @bazza87 runs whenever he feels like it(it usually starts at 11pm UK time). The show is run on WWE 13' for the purpose of hosting a wrestling show that resembles the WWE. The thing that makes it special is the fact that the talent in the show is a random assortment of video game characters like Dr. Willy, Phoenix Wright, and more. The show also includes real life characters like Gabe Newell, Charles Barkley, etc. Bazza makes a match list for one night and writes some story that is delivered by the strange plot device that made the infamous Ghost Problems video. The interesting thing is that Bazza let's the CPU fight every match. This means that he has to write a story that is basically decided upon by sheer chance. If you don't know, WWE 13' is a bad game and the CPU's demonstrate this by having ample amounts of #THQuality in nearly every match. In short, the show is hosted on Twitch and is as insane as I make it out to be. You really should watch it.

With that out of the way I'm guessing that many of us were introduced to VGCW by Giantbomb so hopefully this'll be a thread that'll be awesome.

Today will be my first time watching it live. I kinda thought it seemed potentially very dumb, and then spent half the weekend watching it. Yikes.

Last week was my first episode. The first thing I saw was the inferno match between Bowser and Ganon.

Love this show. I was one step away to actually signing up for a twitch/twitter account just to get notifications of when the show was going live. But, I just couldn't bring myself to do it.

So glad this exists, it's better than current WWE.

I watched this for the first time the other day, so great. Never watched wrestling before, can't stop watching this now.

My only wish is to see Arino beat Gaben (which will never happen, Gaben is on a damn tear) and go on to be chairman. Because I want to see him give the roster challenges. And because Game Center VGCW would be great.

@mikeydct: That would kill the fun of it. It's real in the sense that it isn't plan unlike real wrestling on TV. For story line matches the creator actually builds story line branches with different win conditions.

I love how everyone has to qualify their enjoyment of VGCW with, "...bu-bu-but I would never watch actual pro wrestling, I SWEAR!"

Also, Gabe's entrance will never get old.

The music really makes watching this so much better.

I don't think it's so much about downplaying wrestling in general or trying to say 'Oh no, I'd NEVER watch that!', but more that VGCW is so funny/entertaining/dumb that it bridges a weird gap for people who've never really had any previous interest in anything wrestling related.
