Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2 is the easy choice... I think it might be Binary Domain though, it's just SO GOOD

The fighting in Devil Survivor 2 is different from DS1?

I've only played The Darkness 2, SSX, and XBLA games released in 2012. So far I think Alan Wake's American Nightmare is my favorite.

I did just finish Arkham Asylum for the first time and that's the best game that I've played in the last three months regardless of release date.

On the one hand, my top three would be 13-2, Journey, and ME3.  On the other hand, those three and Amalur would be the only new games I've played this year so far.

Journey. So nice.

#105 Posted by AckbarTheGreat (423 posts) -

Journey was pretty amazing.

Probably Journey.

Asuras Wrath.

#108 Posted by Commisar123 (1853 posts) -

Probably Journey and Sine Mora

#109 Posted by EuanDewar (5151 posts) -

Journey probs. I liked that Mass Effect 3 a fair bit though.

#110 Posted by upwarDBound (658 posts) -

I've only played Soulcalibur V so far and found it to be very mediocre. The next 2012 game I end up playing will probably be Mass Effect 3.

#111 Posted by AndrewBeardsley (386 posts) -

FF 13-2 id say

#112 Posted by TheHT (12380 posts) -

Mass Effect 3 and Alan Wake.

The only releases from 2012 I've played was ME3 and Journey, so I'm going to say Borderlands 2.

#115 Posted by Rudeboy217 (1784 posts) -

Probably Mass Effect 3 because I really cannot think of other games I have played this year.

I am going to go with I am alive, with Armored core 5 as a close second.

#118 Posted by Hizang (9359 posts) -

The Metal Gear Solid HD Collection.

Journey by far. Completely amazing top to bottom. Mass Effect 3 had great moments but the ending, DLC debacle, and generally roughness of parts held it back. SSX was also a blast to play, but really Journey is going to be hard to beat for all of 2012.

#121 Posted by johncallahan (723 posts) -

Complete toss-up at this point between Asura's Wrath, Journey, and (as broken as parts of it are) Street Fighter X Tekken.

#123 Posted by damswedon (3221 posts) -

Journey followed by Katawa Shoujo, and Mass Effect 3.

#124 Posted by Elyk247 (398 posts) -

Mass Effect 3 was superb, and I feel better about the ending now. (Mostly out of apathy)

SSX was really fun, but I've only played the demo. I'm excited to play Kingdoms of Amulur, Syndicate, and Vita soon.

It's a close call between Mass Effect 3 and Asura's Wrath. I've only played 5 game so far this year that I'd consider putting in an end of year list, the three others being Rhythm Heaven, Darkness II, and Dustforce.

#126 Posted by McBonJon (202 posts) -

For now, I have to go with Syndicate. Followed by Street Figher x Tekken and Mass Effect 3

#127 Posted by therealminime (266 posts) -

Journey and Mass Effect 3 are the best two I have played thus far.

#128 Posted by ImmortalSaiyan (4745 posts) -

Katawa Shoujo.

The Last Story, with Asura's Wrath and Mass Effect 3 jostling for second place.

Darkness II by a mile. However, i have a feeling Syndicate might beat it out of the first place spot when i pick it up

#133 Posted by JamesJeux007 (561 posts) -

Rhythm Heaven Fever. It's not even close.

#134 Posted by 71Ranchero (3174 posts) -

I haven't bought any 2012 games yet.

#135 Posted by vikingdeath1 (1096 posts) -

The Darkness 2 was pretty short (Compared to other games I've played recently; ME3, Skyrim, KoA, ETC) and it's not my favorite release this year, but I was playing all of those longer games at the same time that Darkness 2 arrived, and I always wanted to play it over everything else! (especially FF XII-2............ at final boss..... have been for a month..... can't bring myself to play it for another 30 minutes even just to get it the fuck over with....eh it wasn't ALL bad........ Well...... I have mixed feelings for that game)

#136 Posted by Enigma777 (6229 posts) -

Mass Effect 3, followed closely by Saints Row: The Third. Journey's up there too.

#137 Posted by BleedingStarX (344 posts) -

Binary Domain without a doubt

#138 Posted by BlastProcessing (947 posts) -

Journey, hands down.

3. Gotham City Impostors

#140 Posted by kerse (2193 posts) -

Asura's Wrath took me by surprise and was the most enjoyable for me so far, followed closely by ME3 despite the ending.

#141 Posted by Morningstar (2323 posts) -

Dont know that I have played any 2012 release exept for KoA: Reckoning. So I guess thats my favorite.

#142 Posted by quimstyle (60 posts) -

KoA reckoning, its the only one I played. Very underwhelming, and thats from a Salvatore nerd.

#143 Posted by Sparky_Buzzsaw (6979 posts) -

I've actually managed to control my spending this year, and I've only bought one 2012 game - Jagged Alliance: BIA. While it's not a great game by any means, it's much, much better than I'd hoped for and it shows a lot of promise for modders and future patches.

#144 Posted by NapTimeSleeper (342 posts) -

Gotham City Impostors. I havent really played any games that have blown me away yet.

#145 Edited by TheEvilCory (77 posts) -

Tribes, by a mile. Been pretty disappointed by 2012 games so far. Parts of ME3 were fantastic, others not so much. SSX managed to hold my attention for a weekend (damn fun weekend though.) The Darkness two was fun but forgettable. Overall, I keep coming back to tribes and playing older games. Just got kid icarus though, and it seems fun. Although it has a similar problem that mario kart has, in that I keep getting my ass handed to me by Japanese kids.

Edit: I forgot that I also played Syndicate, but I thought it was terrible.

#146 Posted by TheRealJpoe (159 posts) -

Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2, Final Fantasy XIII-2, & Tales of Graces F.

in that order.

Mass Effect 3

Journey and Asura's Wrath.
