I've cloned my fair share of Pokémon (though all "legit", at least). I've abused quick saving/loading in plenty of games. I'm using a guide to play Persona 3 Portable and max all my S. Links in the first playthrough.
Oh, and I once fucked a Nintendo 64 before getting married to it.
I would join random peoples towns in A Kingdom for Keflings, break their buildings, and scatter the pieces everywhere. They made it so you can't do that anymore but it was fun while it lasted.
Me and my sister combined have gotten 100% on every single Lego game together. I'm not sure if this is a sin or an accomplishment, but I'm proud either way.
My only gaming sin was taking a straw to a Tekken machine and enabling Free Play. It sucked too because the next week it was gone and replaced with Die Hard Arcade
Die Hard Trilogy on PS1 was great though. The Arcade doesn't appear to be so good....
Watched a walk through for parts of Dark Souls because I would get lost a lot. Really wish I didn't, the parts I played on my own and not knowing what was going to happen were much more fun.
If one of my troops dies in Fire Emblem I will actually kill a friend in real life. I know it's wrong, but if you're not willing to go that far you're just not playing the game right.
In Persona on the PSP I made a suspend save just before the final boss and copied the save file over to my computer so when I died I could just copy the file back to the PSP and try again without slogging through the dungeon again.
I've never played a single minute of a Legend of Zelda or Final Fantasy game; while Super Mario Kart is obviously the best of the series, I will not balk at throwing down on some Double Dash; speaking of Mario, the last Mario game I played to completion was The Lost Levels; I don't play current generation games on an HD display because I've never been able to afford one; I thought playing as Raiden for the bulk of Metal Gear Solid 2 was awesome -- I wasn't an avid game player at the time and it really confounded the few expectations I had for it; TIE Fighter is the greatest video game of all time (this isn't a sin per se, but I feel it important to publicly mention TIE Fighter every so often).
I never finished L.A. Noire because at every wrong dialogue choice I made, I reload the scene. So after 10 hours I was still at the second department, and was done!
Also never finished GTA IV, because the controls of the camera was awful and the game never clicked with me.
From time to time, I use a game guide to just plug some side stuff-type holes and then I call myself a completionist. And while I am at it, lately I find myself buying a game, doing everything there is to do (dialogs, side missions etc.) for the first third of a game or so and then just say to my self "fuck it" and beeline the story to the finishline.
I've played all the Fire Emblems that have been released state side, and would reload whatever chapter I was in if any one of my units bit the dust in all of the games. In The Old Republic, I'd use Esc to quit out of conversations until I get the best amount of loyalty from my companion. I still haven't beaten Xenoblade, because I feel the need to do EVERYTHING. I don't buy games on the computer till they're on steam. I occasionally disappear from mmo's without a trace. I have a Wii U and mainly use it for netflix. I never play above Normal difficulty unless there is a specific reason to do so If there is a way to get the Best ending in the game, I will look it up immediately to make sure I do everything correctly for it. I Can't play point and click adventure games without looking up solutions... I also abuse quick saves in any game that will allow me them, ranging from fallout to punchout on the 3ds...
I have a Wii U and bought a two terabyte hard drive for it. I played Nintendo Land for maybe an hour, New Super Mario Bros U for about 3-4 hours, and ZombiU for about an hour and a half. I think Nintendo is no longer for me.
I download recipe lists for potions and similar off game-faqs before playing an RPG. I can't waste my time mixing alchemy pots blind and buying recipes in game feels silly.
In Tomb Raider 2 I just booted up the Mansion Training Level most of the time just to listen to this song Then I popped the PS1 disc into my PC and just copied the song over and I listen to it it way too much, even now.
@Snail: Come on, man. That's one of the best bosses in the game. You're not supposed to wreck it like that.
I actually considered going back to play it, especially after I learned of a way of beating the boss that made me keep his camouflage. But then 2 days passed after I saved, meaning that unless I waited a whole week I'd be taken back to that prison (or whatever it is that happens). Again. No thank you sir.
I savescummed HARD in CK2 so I could assassinate or otherwise get rid of bad inheritance lines. Good thing my Intrigue was ballin' or it would have taken forever to kill Sancho IV, V, VI, and VII.
When I got dragged back to the prison, I just reset the damn game.
That works if he hit you too many times or whatever and if you saved before the fight. The first time I got dragged back I hadn't saved, and now that I did I've let more than 2 days go by, meaning that simply resetting won't prevent Snake from being dragged, since he should just be asleep every time I load the save file.
I love the Legend of Zelda series, have had a great time with those games, the music and puzzles. Only I have never finished a Zelda game. The experience also just fizzles out, I stop playing, come back to the save but forget where I was what I have and just give up. I have played Links Awakening, Ocarina of Time, Wind Waker, Twighlight Princess, Phantom Hourglass but have not finished any of those games.
