EDIT: Updated 2017.

Sooooo, while being sick and listening to the latest Beastcast I did some work figuring out how many hours of video content there is on Giantbomb.com

I used qlcrew.com to figure out the run time of each video. I did not include trailers, "Game Tapes RAW" or any video not on qlcrew.com (which means they are probably not on giantbomb.com) I tried to make the number more accurate by removing obvious duplicates like the E3 streams that appears both as single videos and complete (unedited) videos. The WiiU launch stream did also appear as both a 4 (?) hour video and separate videos for each game. And so on and so on.

Edit 2017: The extra PUBG and Destiny 2 raid perspectives are not included.

This list does not include the video bombcast as to make the comparison better to earlier years.

There are probably some stuff that's incorrect here, some videos could be missing because some of them didn't have the run time listed on qlcrew (It says 00:00, I had to manually check all of those), some duplicates could have slipped through and other random stuff I can't think of may have made this not entirely correct. But I think I got it pretty close if not perfect.

Jesus that's a lot of great content. Does this include all the extra life stuff through out the years?

@tviddy: I think so, some of those videos was not listed with run time on qlcrew.com, so I added those "manually". I don't know if every extra life stream is archived on giantbomb.com but those that are should be included here if I didn't mess up.

@sunbrozak: I've probably watched 95% of everything from the last 4 years. Everything before that is probably like 70%. I'm guessing I've watched 130 days worth of stuff, that's seems like too much, but maybe.

This is a cool thing.

Although kind of scary that I've probably seen a majority of it (much of it in the background while working out or playing games, but still!)

I'm going to predict that the final run time in minutes for 2016 is going to be 3,740,013.

This is really cool! You can see some interesting trends, such as how much Patrick's daily streams from Chicago (as well as Scoops and the Wolf) raised the average for 2014 to be surprisingly high.

2016 might also end up being surprisingly high once you consider the 2-3 hours of live video Bombcast being added every week, as well as the time saved in terms of editing it.

The one thing that is clear is that this is way too much quality video content for any one person to reasonably watch.

(I watch most of it)

A bit less than half of those days in 2009 are from the Persona 4 Endurance Run alone. This is a cool thing, thanks for doing this.

This isn't counting all the ER rerunning and general revisiting a lot of us probably do. We're slaves to their garrulous charm.

The huge increase between 2010 and 2013-onwards in terms of total content actually really surprised me; I've often felt the opposite was true. Given comparisons between numbers of videos per year, however, a lot of that might have to do with the significantly longer uploads these days, along with subjectively-assessed digestibility of such content (I personally prefer shorter videos).

Either way, this was neat.

Oh, man... I've been a member since day one, and I am pretty sure the only things I have not watched has been the daily DOTA and maybe a few QL's here and there where I did not want a game to be spoiled before playing it myself. An impressive amount of entertainment!

So I queried the QLCrew database and I've got 15123409 seconds (175 days, 56 minutes, 49 seconds).

That includes every single video from the site excluding trailers. It also includes other stuff made by Jeff, or Rorie that's not published on the site.

2 videos are missing the length, so add an hour or so to that.

This doesn't include Jeff's 4 hour Funky Barn stream? This data is invalid!!! /s

I've consumed a lot of the videos since i joined a few years ago and i still have a huge backlog to watch. I definitely missed several hours of the Extra Life streams, Bombing in the AM, Daily Dota, Patrick's daily streams (latter 3 are much more fun to watch live than archive).

Hell is a stats screen that you see when you die.

"I spent HOW long watching other people play video games!? What have I done?"

*considers this thought for a moment, posts reply, watches another video*

That's only a week or two more time than the amount of time I've put into Dota in 5 years...

This is a bad realization.

Does 2016 include the video Bombcast? If so, might be a little misleading to include, or you should go back and add the audio bombcast to previous years.

I'd be curious to know how many Giant Bomb viewers, if any, have digested every bit of those 170~ days of video. I feel like I've watched a whole lot of Giant Bomb but it probably amounts to less than a fifth of what's available. Nevertheless, that's a whole lot of quality content.

Plus you haven't taken into account of rewatching older videos.

I was just re-watching, "We Talk Over the Sony E3 2016 Press Conference". That was an interesting show to re-watch, and I think I will re-watch all of the e3 2016 conferences.

I like to dip back into old videos and old series. Early last year I re-watched the Persona 4 endurance run, which concurrently was being remastered as well (I watched it all in low definition.) I think this year I might dive into another endurance run like Vinny's and Jeff's Deadly Premonition endurance run.

If people are not dipping back into the old content - they are really missing out.
My top three picks of stuff to rewatch:
