This is more than likely true since it is coming from Nintendo itself, so I can not wait for the official announcement and the details for how the game will be played online.
The link confirms WiiConnect24, not online play. Most likely it'll just be leaderboards, or some sort of score challenges system or something like that. That's the sort of stuff WiiConnect24 is used for. I can almost gaurentee there will be no online play. If there was, they would have announced it at E3.
Excellent! I really thought the last Wii Sports could have benefitted from online play and leaderboards. It certainly would have extended the replay value of the game tremendously. Oh... good call, Matty. Yeah, looks like actual online play is out of the picture. But I'm down with some leaderboards. I'd also like to see Nintendo make an update to the Mii channel. While people can come up with some awesome creations, it still is pretty limited. A few more options could be great.
