Overall, I thought it was ok.
The joker bit in the beginning was cool, glad theyre doing a sequel.
I guess the Jack black thing was funny, Mark Hammil or Nolan should have won that though.
Spec ops looked surprisingly cool.
The bravery sucked ass.
Snoop was eh
I was hoping the new star wars game was KOTOR 3, not Force Unleashed 2.
Halo Reach looked pretty good, graphics didnt blow me away though, hopefully theyre alot better.
Glad Uncharted 2 won game of the year.
was disapointed Gears 3 didnt get revealed as rumored. thought it would have been a great closure.
And honestly, if they want people to take this game awards seriously and have it become our Emmys or oscars, they need to stop catering to the 16 year old bros and stereotypical nerds taht have never been with a woman before. Another thing, we dont need girls in skimpy outfits escorting our guests and passing stuff out. and they really should get people that are relevant to games. Not Snoop dog and Mike Tyson. This is why I dont think itll be anything more than Embarassing Stereotyping of gamers.
Anyway, I thought it was ok.
Spec Ops looks mindblowing and I am really hoping for a PC version. I am happy with the graphics and direction taken in both Medal Of Honor and Halo: Reach. Batman 2 seems very soon but as long as it turns out well i'm willing to play ball like with Left 4 Dead 2. Crackdown 2 is looking like a fantastic sequel. The rest was shit.
I thought the fact that they didn't have a host was a bit bizarre, but overall not a bad show.
Unfortunately I dont know if any Video Game Awards show will ever reach Emmy/Oscar level. Game devs accepting awards is not exciting enough for a mainstream audience.
Game studios should have either A) have characters from the game accept the award...I know its the devs/producers moment but it would make for a better show...have Ezio come out and accept the award...or B) Have an attached actor accept the award...even if they are just voice talent...how cool would it have been if Hugh Jackman as Nathan Drake show up and accepted for Uncharted2(rumor is they want him to play Nathan Drake in the film) .
I think it would help change the perception of the whole video games are for kids/nerds/losers stereotype.
No need to bump this now there's a thread for VGA discussion.
