i hope that we'ill see more of this when he's settled in New york,
i want to believe.
So he can bring joy to the world.
Also very possible he just left it running on his PC when family things suddenly happened or something.
@video_game_king: Vinji Ikari with Jeff being mad tsundere over him because Vinji's a Souls fan.

And of course, Brad is Rei.
All the people saying stuff like "why do you care" and "what does it matter" are being dumb. People care about the interests of the people they are interested in. It's not that hard to make that leap. It's no secret that Vinny is well liked in the GiantBomb community. Wanting to know more about a public personality you enjoy is not a new concept.
@ett: the Far Eastcoast?
people are stalking vinny because too much time has passed since he was here with all the NYGB
people are missing him and with a good cause

You know those times where we have to take a step back and go, "You're being a tiny bit creepy again, community"? This might be one of those times.
Yeah, because looking at Vinny's logged videogame hours in his public steam profile is like stalking his family pictures on his facebook account.

But it is weird to see what someone has been playing and then post a thread like this, calling out a specific title and the number of hours played as though it's some sort of strange phenomenon in need of futher investigation.

I think you're inferring a more serious tone in the OP than there actually is.

You'd honestly be surprised. We've had some seriously creepy creepers creeping on the staff in the past.

Hey, if Ryan was willing to drink anonymous breast milk, I think anything else goes.

That's really not the same.
I'm gonna go ahead and guess it's probably steam being weird. Sometimes I see that I've got 90 hours or so on a game I've never even played.

What game exactly?

It's not one specific game. When it goes haywire like that, it seems to randomly affect a bunch of games. But it stands out more when it's showing such a huge played time on a game I know for a fact I haven't played.
Wow... seeing that post by Ryan at the bottom of Vinnyies Steam page took me to his Steam account and seeing the last time logged in number made me super sad. I guess when we pass all these online accounts just float around in the nothing. Never getting used. A lot of people still have him on their friends list too. I couldn't imagine how hard that would be to see his name there always knowing it's never going to come online.
@sweep: curious about his playtimes compared to some of mine

it was more partial joke. i was curious about some of his playtimes for stuff like sleeping dogs compared to mine.
@hailinel: I don't get it, why be so unhelpful?
@hailinel: I don't get it, why be so unhelpful?
Unhelpful? In what way?
@hailinel: Well you could say something like "oh yeah he really likes that game, he mentioned it in a podcast", or "he sometimes leaves it running when he's not around so that he clocks up some hours as a joke" or just "I don't know, I guess that is a little weird". But no you decided to be counterproductive to the OP's goal in creating the thread by asking him his motivation in a snarky manner.

If it's that much of a problem for you, take it to a PM. I'm not going to discuss that any further here.
@hailinel: You are wound incredibly tight. This topic is clearly just some curiosity, of the kind for which public Steam profiles exist. The whole point is comparison and observation. Besides that, the tone is clearly good-humored. I think you might need to step back a sec.
Now, back to sane conversation.
I'm going to guess it's because he's found some functionality for his drawings on there that is useful, or that it has come convenient way of managing images for site use. Alternatively, it could be something even more obvious: He is editing himself into every issue of Pokemon.
