Question: would any of these games work on shit computers? Portal doesn't count, as I already did an awesome blog on it.

Oh, the question. I'd probably be most excited for Jeff, since he seems like a pretty cool dude. Of course, I'd never actually visit the Whiskey Offices, because I'm convinced that I'd fuck things up on a grand scale.

i'd be excited to meet rorie, cuz PUPPIES!

I want amnesia.

#4 Posted by Little_Socrates (5694 posts) -

I would be most excited to meet Jeff because as entertaining as everyone else is, he's the most insanely insightful.

Also, so sorry, but when I finally had the money to donate a game last week, my credit card info got stolen and my account was liquidated, so it'll be a couple weeks still. Think I'll donate a copy of Cargo.

#5 Posted by CharlesAlanRatliff (5457 posts) -
@Video_Game_King: The Temple of Elemental Evil came out in 2003, so you might be able to play that.
#6 Posted by Kyreo (4600 posts) -

I would really get hyped to meet Dave. He is a really great guy and talking to him on the Hardcore Dave radio was rad. :P

#7 Posted by ArbitraryWater (12006 posts) -

Yes, I have donated yet another obscure-ish game for your contesting pleasure. I should warn you right now that Temple of Elemental Evil is very much not for everyone. It's stupid hard, fairly convoluted, but also totally awesome... assuming you've installed the fan mod that fixes all the broken stuff.  Only ask for it if you're going to play it in earnest.

Personally, if I were to go to the whiskey media offices, I'd be very excited to meet Vinny. The reasons why should be fairly obvious. And I'll try for Rush this time.

#8 Posted by CharlesAlanRatliff (5457 posts) -
@Little_Socrates: No problem! Thanks for the update.

@Kyreo: Yeah, Dave is really good at talking to a bunch of strangers on the Internet about random stuff. It's very entertaining.

Also, I think this is my best edition of the game giveaway yet, as far as the way the original post looks.
#9 Posted by dungbootle (2458 posts) -

I'd want to meet the whole crew, but mostly Jeff. He is kind of awesome and living the dream.
Killing Floor please.

#10 Posted by ArbitraryWater (12006 posts) -
@Video_Game_King: If your computer can run Portal and Half Life 2, it can probably run TOEE. Not very well mind you, but well enough for it to work.

I will agree. They have been getting better and better and the prizes just keep stacking up.

#12 Posted by CharlesAlanRatliff (5457 posts) -
@Kyreo: My goal is for it to run a whole year straight! We've just passed the 6-month mark without a break. I need to write up a blog about it or something.
#13 Posted by Video_Game_King (36272 posts) -
@ArbitraryWater

Keep in mind that I couldn't run Portal and Half-Life 2 very well, either. I got a lot of shit for this picture, something that blew me the hell away:

#14 Edited by ArbitraryWater (12006 posts) -
@Video_Game_King: I'm fairly aware of how bad your computer is. Well, TOEE wasn't the cutting edge of graphical technology like Half Life 2 was in 2004. You could probably run it in like 800x600 with some of the effects turned off and it would do just fine. I also think the Circle of Eight mod (once again, practically essential. New content optional) adds the ability to play in windowed mode (don't quote me on it though. I currently don't have the game installed on my computer). I think you could beat it. You clearly have a tolerance for pain. I mean, you've finished Fire Emblem Thracia 776 and that game is the definition of bullshit.

It is really tough to just pick one person out of the bunch, but I think in a purely one on one kind of scenario Ryan, because he's pretty funny and talkative.

I guess I'll try for Amnesia this time.

#16 Posted by bellmont42 (325 posts) -

Dave because he likes the best games... also Temple of Elemental Evil :P

#17 Posted by jorbear (2517 posts) -

Probably Vinny. He is such a crazy awesome guy.

Also, Temple of Elemental Evil. I have been wanting to get a hard copy of this game for a while, but a digital version will suffice.

#18 Posted by BeachThunder (12305 posts) -

Ryan...maybe...

Toki Tori.

#19 Posted by iam3green (14390 posts) -

i would be most excited to meet would be the gaintbomb crew. it's the only people from whiskey media people.

Amnesia: The Dark Descent

just a FYI, if i win, i won't be here as i am going on vacation for 8 days on thursday. i won't be back until july 1st. i can't tell you my address.

#20 Posted by FluxWaveZ (19377 posts) -

I'd be really excited to meet Jeff so I could obnoxiously yell a bunch of quotes he's said in the past to him and annoy him by constantly asking him about the Endurance Run.

I'd like Audiosurf.

#21 Posted by Bloodgraiv3 (2713 posts) -

I'd be most happy to talk to Dave, he's really good at keeping a conversation going and has a lot of interesting things to say about just about everything.
Plus he gets the least air time so it would be interesting to hear from him since we barely do as it stands now.
I'd like Temple of Elemental Evil.
#22 Posted by Skald (4369 posts) -

Will.

Anyway, I don't really want any of those games. If I win, I want you to say "extremeradical is a cool guy."

#23 Posted by McShank (1629 posts) -

Jeff Gerstmann would be the person i would be most excited about meeting. Why? Because hes Jeff Gerstmann..

Amnesia please

#24 Posted by Video_Game_King (36272 posts) -
@ArbitraryWater

Thracia 776 is the definition of bullshit? Clearly, you have not played games like Devil Survivor or Dead Rising, because THOSE are bullshit. Anyway, I've figured out that I'm not a fan of old PC games without a windowed mode. Was that a recent invention or something? I can't imagine the sprites posing a problem, since I can bullshit around with different sizes in emulators without the damn things crashing.
#25 Posted by nbesnerson (34 posts) -

I'd like to chat with Dave. Just 'cause.

Portal Please

#26 Posted by pantzing_nome (584 posts) -

Probably Jeff but getting to meet anyone from whiskey media would be awesome.
I'm going for Audiosurf.

#27 Posted by theveej (850 posts) -

hmmm tough question. I would be most excited to meet Jeff, but I think it would be really awkward..... so I probably go with Drew, seems like an awesome dude to chill with. (Really considered Will Smith too)

I would love to play Amnesia: The Dark Descent, heard so many great things about it

#28 Posted by Gerhabio (1977 posts) -

I wish I could meet Vinny, he seems like a really nice person.

If I want I'd like Amnesia

#29 Posted by Payne (8 posts) -
#30 Posted by Danteveli (1210 posts) -

It would be cool to meet Dave and Vincent. I think we have similar taste in games plus we would start our own podcast about completing RPG 100%.

This time I would try Killing Floor

#31 Posted by LittleBigJono (252 posts) -

Dave because I think I could learn a lot about site engineering from him and the other engies
I too would like Audiosurf :)

#32 Posted by Diablochicken14 (114 posts) -

WIll for sure he seems like a cool guy.

Killing Floor.

#33 Posted by redbliss (648 posts) -

I would like to meet any one of the Giant Bomb guys because they all seem pretty cool and fun to talk to.

I would like Audiosurf if I win, thanks.

Dave

He's the only person I know of that shares the same love of a lot of the same games as I do, and the only person that I would blindly take a game recommendation on without doing my own research first. Pretty much every occasion that I have heard him talk about anything we both shared the same opinion almost every time. At least when it comes to games. Except for those racing games. That ones all him.

I just think it would be a ton of fun to go on a man date and just talk about shit.

Runner Up: Vinny

Vinny just seems like he would be fun to be around, and he has such a god dam infectious smile. Every time that mans on screen I have a smirk on my face.

Now gimmie: The Temple of Elemental Evil: A Classic Greyhawk Adventure

#35 Posted by valrog (3671 posts) -

Ryan, he reminds me of House. Brilliant and sarcastic. Vinny would be close second.

Audiosurf.

#36 Posted by KarlHungus (125 posts) -

Really anyone from the Giant Bomb crew. Ryan, Jeff, VInny, Brad, too hard to choose.

The Temple of Elemental Evil Please. Thanks!

Amnesia Dark Descent!

Vincenzo and Amnesia.

They both seem to be the popular choice here, I now notice.

If I had a chance to go to their offices, I'd probably want to meet Brad.  He seems like a pretty cool and laid-back sorta guy.

Audiosurf if chosen, please =D

#41 Posted by yoshimitz707 (2453 posts) -

Excited to meet Vinny.

I want amnesia.

#42 Posted by Wolfrum_920 (104 posts) -

I`d be excited to meet anyone really. If i had to pick, id have to say the giant bomb crew, but i think id prefer meeting people like Drew, Joey and Ana, people who are the gears of video production. I feel they don't get enough screen time as it is, id just like to meet them to say thanks!

I`d like Killing Floor

#43 Posted by RTSlord (1201 posts) -

i'd be most excited to meet vinny, he seems like a guy i'd have a ton of fun hanging out with but also would probably learn a couple things (and actually remember it) while i'm there.

i'll take audiosurf please

#44 Posted by Winternet (8035 posts) -

Every staff member from the WM would be amazing to meet with, but if I could only choose one, I would say Jeff. He's the one that I've been following for a longer time.

Amnesia. I think, I don't remember.

#45 Posted by falco_eagle (219 posts) -

If I went to Whiskey Media I would definitely want to meet Will Smith.

I'd like Cogs.

#46 Posted by ratscats (17 posts) -

Jeff from Giant Bomb love those videos.

I would go for Amnesia

#47 Posted by AhmadMetallic (18954 posts) -

Am i allowed not to be excited to meet any of them? That's my answer...

Killing Floor on Steam please.

#48 Posted by FirePrince (1765 posts) -

I would love to meet Drew, and play DiRT with him. Then chill with Dave and watch some weird-ass PC titles.
Killing Floor for Steam please.

#49 Posted by Pop (2648 posts) -

I wanna meet Jeff and ask him weird video game questions and then make him link two games together like he did in that building a bomb a long time ago :D.
I would like Killing Floor.

#50 Posted by Equal_Opportunity_Destroyer497 (560 posts) -

My original answer would have been Alex, but considering he's in NYC and not in the office I'd have to choose Vinny. He just seems like cool and smart dude.

Amnesia, sir!
