Watchmen Smiley face = Bad Company?

I was in the theateres watching the trailers before the Day the Earth stood Still (O.K movie) when I was watching the Watchmen trailer, and the constant appearence of a Smiley Face reminded me much of the Bad Company grenade pin in Battlefield BC. After the movie, I came home and compared the two. They are the same thing. No, they dont just look alike, I mean exactly the same!

watchman the comic came out in 1986, the smiley face was used in Walmart commercials before, and if you followed WWE back then, Mick Foley would use it as well.
