THIS WAS SUPPOSED TO GO IN THE STALKER: CoP BOARD, DONT KNOW HOW IT ENDED UP HERE. COULD A MOD PLEASE MOVE?
The weapon sounds are screwed up in my game. When I fire a weapon it sounds muffled, when an NPC fires a weapon it sounds fine. I fixed this problem before a recent reformat but I cant find or remember how I did it. I know it involved unpacking the db files into a gamedata folder and modifying one of the unpacked text files.
I have read on a couple of different forums that disabling EAX will fix this problem but it did not for me. I found a sound mod that is supposed to fix the problem here, but the installation instructions are vaugue at best ("Just unpack the gamedata folder to the main game folder"). Can anybody give me a hand here?
