Like most people, I don't have a ton of time and while I really love RPGs I don't have enough time to invest 30-40 hours into a single game. Besides that, I usually lose interest after playing a game for 10-15 hours.

So... what are some of the best games under 10 hours? (any system, preferably recent)

For example, I've just beaten Modern Warfare 2 (single-player) and it lasted around six hours and it was amazing. I've also heard that a bunch of PSP/DS/GBA games are really fun (Mario RPGs) and are short. Unfortunately (fortunately?) I don't take a train or bus to work so I really could only play the PSP/DS/GBA at home.

Also, I'm not really interested in "casual" puzzle games or whatever.

Metal Slug 1-6, even the Anthology, but you will go back to it, trust me.

Also, your username is missing an "I" in between "K" and "N" I believe.

Brutal legend is fairly good and about five hours.

I might get hated for this, but I actually enjoyed the "Lost" game, it was pretty short and you can get it for stupid cheap.

Wipeout HD on PSN is great if you're really pressed for time.  2-10 minutes of Wipeout HD is so fun and action-packed it feels like 30 minutes of another game.

The same goes for the PSP versions, Pure and Pulse, but if you're not going to be mobile, HD is the way to go.

The Knytt-games are crazy short. Like just a little over an hour. And they're free too.

Uncharted 2. I beat it in under 10 hours...by far the best single player game this year to me. Followed closely by Arkham Asylum and inFamous.

COD 2 begs to differ.

Another for Portal.

I'll throw World of Goo out there, too.  Got that a few weeks ago and I'm finally playing through it.  I'm enjoying it quite a bit so far.

MGS4, clocks in at 5 hours for the Big Boss title, about twice that if you're just playing for some fun.

A rousing game of monopoly or perhaps some settlers of catan shouldn't take more than two hours.

Call of duty 4 is one of the best examples of a great, but short game. Also it sucks you in and you CAN'T STOP PLAYING! Seriously, I beat it in one sitting on multiple occasions. Portal is great as well, but it doesn't (at least for me) have the same suck you in factor like, say, Cod 4. But, if you played Portal cos you bought The Orange Box, there's always Half Life 2 Episode 2 there. It's an awesome action game that'll keep you on your toes the whole time (which will take 4-6 hours, depending on skill).

Braid and World of Goo are amazing short and cheap games...

Mirror's Edge was right around 10 hours I think, maybe a little less. Great game either way. Braid and Portal are both fantastic arcade games too.

I just remember finishing it within a day or two of getting it, and spending close to 45 minutes on one mission towards the end of the game trying to finish it without using a gun. Time gets a little blurred at that point... could've very possibly been closer to 5 hours. lol
#50 Posted by CornontheCobbe (2693 posts) -

Resident Evil 5, Portal (as everyone mentioned, as it's great and short), Bioshock maybe.
