I would hate to hear it's another ho hum tightly wound gaming forum.

For example, I once sent a picture of an animated turd fucking another animated turd in the ass to Rich Gallup, it was all in good fun. Good guy and everything and I can't remember the exact context, but it was pretty benign.

Are there ridiculous filters in this forum, or can you say what you want within reason?

Fuck
Cunt
Dick

Get back to me.

Gerstmania motherfuckers,

Consdering that they're swearing on the Bombcast, I'm sure it's fine on the forums. Would be really fucking great too. Not many serious video game sites do allow vulgar language these days.

#3 Posted by elliooo (293 posts) -

Yes I find such language greatly increases my ability to make a serious video game site point.

Emoticons on the other hand, help to convery sarcasm.

I don't see them putting up filters, I recall Ryan saying fuck in one podcast so it would be kind of inconsistent to ban it in the forums.

I'd say try to keep it within reason. I'd rather not have the guys drum up a bunch of filters to keep things "safe" or whatever.

Posts or threads that devolve into swearing for the sake of swearing will get chopped.

Alright dually noted

I only swear to emphasize things, because I'm not educated enough to use proper language.

#10 Posted by henjin (829 posts) -

So we can swear? Well thats good, because I don't want it to be like a carebear forum where we can't type anything that sounds like a swear...
Then again, swearing for the sake of swearing is just stupid.

And I plan on continuing to throw obscure references around for my own amusement.

When are the mods coming out to play?

#13 Posted by Absurd (2934 posts) -

That's great, I'm happy that I don't have to be hiding from Mods as much as back on Gamespot.

#14 Posted by Darksol (2 posts) -

My world is all rainbows and unicorns. I don't swear one bit.

#15 Posted by Yunvon (122 posts) -

I do not mind it, sometimes you just have to swear....

#16 Posted by LouChou (458 posts) -

Like when your ho short changes you on a street corner.

"Bitch I said FIDDY! Why you gimme TWENNY! Fuckin' trick-ass bitch trick!"

#17 Posted by War (19 posts) -

May I say shit, piss, fuck, cunt, cocksucker, motherfucker, or tits?

#18 Posted by Yunvon (122 posts) -

BTW, I do not think there is so called "mods" yet.

This place is like the bastard red headed step child of GS. It hates its father and will do anything and everything that it's father tells it not to do.

This place is it's own. I can feel it.

#20 Posted by elektrixx (309 posts) -

Censoring myself is how I do it on other forums. That's how I'll do it here, even if it is allowed.

#21 Posted by Flexiable (98 posts) -

Hopefully self-moderation should be sufficient, and once people see they can swear the novelty will wear off. Perhaps.

#22 Posted by Rotnac (773 posts) -
siiiiiick. good to know no filters will be implemented =)
#23 Posted by cann3dheat (230 posts) -

A forum with few restrictions is a happy forum.

#24 Posted by Nude_Dude (1076 posts) -

Already looks better than GS...although the forum section is kinda confusing. Guess I'll have to work with it.

#25 Posted by elliooo (293 posts) -

Yeah, posters should be intelligent enough for a forum not to need filters. If someone goes over the top, the forum shouldnt censor their posts, they just need to be deleted, and the user in question... disciplined.

#26 Posted by Jax (461 posts) -

Forum section= tad confusing. But not too bad!

#27 Posted by ResplendentElk (25 posts) -

fuck fuck fuck a duck, screw a kangaroo, finger bang an orangutang, and have an orgy at my zoo.......

its so liberating!

so i can say any fucking words possible and that is another reason Giant bomb is better than them arsehole Gamespot (this word should be blocked and no other fuckings apart from racist words)

that should actually work quite fine, Jeff makes fine rules :D
#30 Posted by RagnarokPwnage (4 posts) -

Could be Giantbomb's tagline.

GiantBomb.com: More freedom than fucking Gamespot!

#31 Posted by SlowHands (347 posts) -

I think it says enough that users here can actually SPELL WORDS, so they know what moderation is.

Then again, Wrods are been derfiifficlet.  (!!!)

This is the perfect place for me. I'm a god damned potty mouth! Coincidentally I love the taste of soap.

#33 Posted by Axersia (1615 posts) -

Can I say fuck for the sake of saying fuck just once?

FUCK!

#34 Posted by Atlas (2449 posts) -

The more swearing the better I say. Would it be possible to make an optional filter for swear words for those under a certain age or those who don't want to see swears, and the rest of us can go fucking mad?

#35 Posted by lucas_kelly (769 posts) -

I wouldn't abuse the privilege. You never know, they might reconsider.  Only use the words if it is absolutely necessary.

#36 Posted by Homer (1372 posts) -

Swear, but don't just swear because you can.
