Shane Bettenhausen seems to think we'll see the DS2 and the PSP2 at this year's E3. I guess I'm more interested in what Sony will do with the PlayStation Portable line. Although it was clear that Sony meant well with the PSP, they really took one or two too many missteps. Chalk it up to inexperience in the handheld market. What direction do you think Sony should take the PSP2 in? I feel like the obvious answer would be "a second analog nub", but I was never really too bothered by stuff like that. I'm more interested to see if Sony can set up a WAP/3G/Amazon Kindle-like service, where you can get the internet anywhere, anytime. That obviously allows them to control piracy.
Even bigger, though, it would allow for a greater fleshing out of the PlayStation Store. I'm looking for more functionality in that respect. I want more PlayStation Store things. I want more things on the software side as opposed to hardware. The next DS is probably going to look equal with the original PSP. Sony don't need to stick more computer chips in there. For me, that's not what a handheld is about. I'm not interested in graphical prowess all that much. I want to see them do more with the PlayStation Store, natch.
EDIT: I meant to add "stronger online app-store-esque infrastructure to the iPhone option above, but I forgot. Consider it included if you will.
