Swear... a lot. Usually turn the game off unless I am feeling masochistic.
What do you do when you get angry at a video game?

The only time I ever got pissed at a game was when I was playing Champions: Return to Arms solo. The boss was so unfair, you have no idea. I ended up shouting "FUCK" as loud as I could and threw the controller at the floor a bit, but kept at it.
It was one that shot arrows, that's all I can remember. It took patience but I eventually killed the fucker.
Street Fighter 4, trying to fight Seth. He's such a cheap bugger because he's not a real human player, so he is able to do all sorts of ridiculous grabs instantly, in an endless loop. I don't ever really get mad enough to throw stuff, but when I died countless times fighting him, I took a drink of orange juice, and put the cup down hard enough that the juice hit the wall haha. Eventually I found I could just set the round time limit down, and when I fought Seth I'd just stay in the middle blocking, quick attack after block, and wait until the timer runs out, giving me the win. That's the worst tantrum I've ever had from a video game.
"Here is a weird question for everyone. Have you gotten so mad at a game that you punched a hole in the wall?"Does knowing someone that threw a controller so hard it punctured a door count?
Anyway, when I get mad at a game I just kind of shrug, say something like "Meh, fuck this." and play something else.
I usually curse A LOT and/ or punch something if I get REALLY pissed off.
Other than that, just a couple of F-Bombs here and there and take a short break.
I remember one time I punched a hole in my wall......playing damn mega man.
"Some of you guys are crazy -- like you. I cannot imagine anybody punching a whole in their wall...over a video game.I usually curse A LOT and/ or punch something if I get REALLY pissed off.

"Karmum said:I don't understand it either, considering how much controllers cost these days (I think a wired controller for the 360 is $40, alone), people are going through controllers like crack."RandomBullet said:I've punched holes in my wall for less, really. I punched my psp to death playing the Rock minigame level 3 on Patapon 2. I failed it like 6 times in a row and I just got pissed. I bought it used so it wasnt even a hundred bucks, but I felt stupid for doing it. I think I'm just mad about my job. I'm a software developer.
One time I was playing Metroid Prime 2 and I kept dying during the last boss fight. I got so mad that I picked up a wooden coat hanger and snaped it half, cutting a nice hole in my palm. I also broke an Xbox controller while playing Ninja Gaiden. I've cooled down quite a bit since those days.
" Throw / bite controllers, yell into couch cushions, switch the machine off in disgust, rant for hour about 'bad game design'.Oh, and as a bonus side-effect, I also irritate my girlfriend with this childishness. "
"@Guerrilla_Mason said:Well, to be honest mine's not a furious hurling as much as a vigorous discarding. I'm never so angry as to lose my brain (and hurt my wallet) in that way. "" I'd cry if I broke a controller. Those things are expensive. "
I yell at the game.
This usually happens while achievement whoring.
One of my favorite profanities isGODDAMMIT or FUCK THIS STUPID GAME IN IT ITS STUPID FUCKING FACE.
It used to be that I would throw the controller. One time I sort of broke a controller. Now I just tend to slam the controller down and then I go, "Fuck this game!" and I turn off the game and then fume for the next half hour.
I go to GiantBomb.com find out who made the game, hunt them down, gut them and play with their viscera while gleefully laughing
I really dont get too mad and break controllers, but my friend gets furious.
He throws his controller anytime he loses in anything that he plays online. In COD4, if someone kills him with a M16 'nade launcher attachment, he yells and tells the guy that hes a noob.
The thing about it is, he uses the 'nade launcher too.
It really dont make sense
I turn off my game. Then, for 5-10 minutes i may or may not cry, and after that i do a crazy psychotic laugh for 30 seconds before picking something wood or metal like a drummer's drumstick or a hockey stick and beat the living S**t out of the plastic table in my room. Then i start throwing mini kid chairs at what ever i can. After that i laugh or cry some more and continue playing. Also some swearing included and swearing in game if it's online at random people. Until i AGAIN do this cycle until I've pretty much wasted my energy. I tend to get mad really easy. I'm not sure if it's a disorder i have. Sometimes i'm really mad and i can't understand or won't understand anything anyone is saying cause i don't want to listen. Then If someone says the right words to calm me down i just burst into tears and i talk/type Your right i shouldn't rage like that. I sob for about 15-30 minutes and just kind of think how stupid it is to rage like that. oh yea, That plastic table? One of the legs are missing and the cover for it is cracked. I also tend to throw my I pod but i never seem to break it. Flappy bird is okay. i mean no raging at flappy bird. suprised? i do have a 100 streak so i'm not mad if i die since i already have a good score. So i feel all of you who rage kind of like me. Maybe i'll watch some sort of show and hope it cheers me up or someone says something funny or i play an easy game. Oh yea if you rage alot don't play any kind of dayz. Those are like the SPAWNS of hell for raging. I tend to watch trolling videos when i get mad too. So it's all good in the world again. Until... next time in 2 minutes. *Read beginning*
I swear usually but when i feel that the inner rage is about to erupt I turn of the game and play it later. It's no fun to play video games if I wreck my nerves in the process.
I play through it, review it, and then bury it under some good games.
Or I beat myself up over it pretty bad. That works, too.
Once in college I did break a 360 controller. It was my only controller and I was a broke college student so I stopped that real quick. Now when I get ticked I "Frisbee" toss the controller onto the couch. I get the satisfaction of throwing the controller while the controller softly lands completely unharmed.
If it's a surprise frustration I slap the right thumbstick and yell "come on!" ...every time.
If it's something over time that's frustrating me I get in a pouty mood haha
I get my friend @arbitrarywater to play the game instead.
I get my friend @arbitrarywater to play the game instead.
And then I complain about it on the internet, possibly in blog form.

And all the while, I continue to send subliminal messages to @video_game_king, guiding him toward ever deeper depths of terrible gaming. Your pained blogs feed the salty core of Giant Bomb's heart.
Mwahaha
I take a break. I've had a few rare moments where I've become enraged enough to throw the controller, and where I live now, with a hardwood floor, breaking controllers is easy to do. Shit, I broke two controllers playing Re: Chain of Memories. The state of inexplicable rage that game put me in was beyond anything I've felt playing any other game, oddly enough. Also, I never finished it, because that's a level of frustration that I do not want to deal with, ever.
I usually just stop and do something else, whether that's going for a walk, playing another game, reading something or watching a movie. Coming back a day later usually allows me to beat the section easily. Never broken a controller or thrown one out of anger. Also good job @leedle_baby for resurrecting a 5 year old thread.
