So I just finished MGS2 in the new HD collection. I realized that even though I have not played MGS2 in about 2 years I still know the game like the back of my hand as I played through it quite a few times since it's release when I was 11 years old, and a few more times over the last decade. It is very likely that it is the game I have played the most times since I got into games, and I'm pretty sure that I have finished that MGS2 around 15 - 20 times.

What about you?

Probably WoW. Non-MMO might be Saints Row 2. Lasted me across 2 years that did. There's also Resident Evil: Outbreak, which I clocked around 246 hours; it might not be the most, but it's a high hitter. MGS2 is definitely another one as well. I remember completing it quite literally over and over. Then there's also Tales of Symponia, which I've completed around 5 times...

I've got a list of all the games that I recall hitting over the 100 mark.

None of my other games come even close to my time spent in World of Warcraft.

World of Warcraft. Started playing in February 2005 for many following years. I never looked at my time played. I don't think I could have handled the shame.

I spent over 400 hours in Pokemon Heart Gold when I was completing the Pokedex, so probably that?
Not sure how much time I put into Runescape, though. It might be more, but I'd rather not think about it too much.

Call of Duty, it's insane that most of my gaming times go to those titles year in and year out, despite always having some sort of backlog of crazy good games that I never really want to play, because, hey Call of Duty. I lump them into the same game, because the formula is mostly the same.

Chrono Trigger? I've played through it probably 5-6 times in my life, so added up, that might be the most. Otherwise, probably The Elder Scrolls: Morrowind. But that was back when I was young and seemed to have limitless free time.

I played so much Baldur's Gate my parents hid the discs from me for a week at one point.

Though I might have played even more Champions of Norrath and Return to Arms with friends.

Also, according to Steam I have logged almost 100 hours with Empire: Total War.

I'd like to say MGS3 since I've finished it about 6-7 times, but in reality it's probably Oblivion. My total time across all characters totals up to just over 400 hours.

If we're going by times completed, it would be Half-Life 2. I've beaten that 4 or 5 times. The longest time I've spent in a game would be Dark Souls or Skyrim, both around 115 hours.

Easily WOW. For two and a half years it was my primary game with all others just an after thought. Since then (and a bit before that) I'd say KOTOR 1, Oblivion, Mass Effect 1 and Persona 3 are high up there.

Probably either Final Fantasy 7, or Final Fantasy X. I know I've completed both at least 5 or 6 times, each savegame being at least 100 hours each as well.

Beyond that, if I'm going to cheat at this, I'd say Mass Effect 3. Of course it's not so much playing as it is testing work, but man have I tested that game a lot. And it's not even out yet.

I'm the same way. So many games to play, so little time because COD. Before that it was Counter-Strike, I don't think I'll ever be able to top the hours put into that game.

Playing time, more than likely Morrowind. I've played that game easily several hundred hours. Number of times beaten? I don't really know. Probably one of the Genesis Sonic games, or Streets of Rage 2 maybe. I've also beaten the Revenge of Shinobi multiple times yet never gotten the true ending.

Warcraft III, countless hours of playing custom games on battlenet for the past 7 years. I must have spent months in real time playing that. Second would be Super Smash Bros Melee probably.

Anyway, the recent games I've put the most time into are World of Warcraft, Morrowind, Call of Duty 2, Call of Duty 4, Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2, and now Skyrim.

For a Multiplayer game, easily WoW. I had nearly 50 days played time on my account when I quit at the end of Burning Crusade. I'd say Starcraft 2 will surpass that mark eventually though with 2 expansions set to come out. I have probably played that game for about 25-30 days played time and will keep playing. For a single player game its tough to say as I have played a lot of games for around the 60 hour mark such as Skyrim, The Witcher, Dark Souls, and games like Grand Theft Auto Vice City, ESPN NFL 2K5.

As a kid, probably Sonic 3 and Knuckles. I had to fill all of the game save slots with completed games and all emeralds collected. Past few years, probably Oblivion. I think I've got somewhere between 250-300 hours spread among four or five characters.

Neverwinter Nights. Can't even guess at the number of hours I've put into that game's online mode. For a single player game, probably Chrono Trigger. I used to play through it two or three times a year for a good 5 or 6 years.

I've got a list (an outdated list) of everything I put over 50 hours into. Short version: 700 hours of Warhawk, 500 hours into Valkyria Chronicles 2, undetermined number of hours of runescape but probably pushing 1000 and 100% completed Vice City 7 times.

Quake 3 Arena, I would guess.

That's the last multiplayer game I really played over a big amount of time though, and I've never played a MMO. For SP I have to say Baldur's Gate 2 (with expansion): I've played through that game (doing most of the side-stuff each time) at least 7 times with different builds. The first save as a barbarian, and got deeper and deeper into other (and often more magic-heavy) builds later on. I first played the game when I was 15, I'm not 25 and my last playthrough was about a year ago. In my mind, it's the greatest game ever.

According to steam, right now it's technically Team Fortress 2 with almost 1k hours total? But I think I did a bit more on CS 1.6, since I played about 3-4 hours a day 5 days a week for 4 years... I think that's probably much more.

I have over 2500 hours in CS 1.6. Haven't played for a couple years though. Wish I still had the time and attention span for a game like that. Although competitive FPS isn't as fun anymore.

Harvest Moon 64

For a good year and a half, I never went a month without playing it. I must have played through the first year at least ten times and with one file made it to year seven. I was incredibly addicted to that game.

I spend 300-400 hours on every Monster Hunter game I play.

I also finished Final Fantasy Tactics about 23 times in total, which took way over 400 hours. One of those playthroughs was over 100 hours, while the others were shorter but still decently long.

Multiplayer game would probably be CoD 4 or Diablo 2. The most time I've ever spent with a single-player game would be Dragon Age: Origins or maybe one of the Sims games. My brothers and me would play those games for hours at a time designing houses and what not.
