I don't know because I don't have timestamps from the 90's or early 2000's.
The only thing I know is that I put in a shit ton of hours into Unreal Championship 2, The Warriors, Team Fortress 2, and Left 4 Dead 1/2, the last two Steam says are a couple hundred hours
TF2. Oblivion, Dark Souls, Final Fantasy Tactics Advance - 300+
Its been quite some time, but the last Pokeman game I played had close to 600 hours on it and I haven't played WoW in close to 3 years and I would not want to know how much time I have on that.
Didn't do all that much studying done during "study leave" around exams. The start of this year I hardly had to spend any time in school because of how Scottish exams work and a whole lot of that time was spent playing Skyrim.
Probably Fallout New Vegas. I've spent hundreds of hours doing practically everything in that game and getting every variation of the ending. My god that game was fantastic.
I have no idea what game I've truly spent the most time playing (console player here), but I currently have 234 hours logged into BF3 for the 360 (thanks Battlelog). Although it's possible that I have played NBA 2K12 for more hours than that.
Various Halo and Call of Duty games have hundreds upon hundreds of my hours logged in as well.
Minecraft is up there too, even though I quit playing that regularly.
In my case it's probably Doom and Doom II, i've played every version I could get my hands on, finished most of them, played countless hours of Doom multiplayer back in the day. and I'm looking forward to Doom 3 BFG edition to replay the old ones yet again.
I sank easily over 100 hours into both Runescape and Warcraft, which is why I don't play MMOs anymore. Other games I've sunk over 100 hours into are Dragon Age Origins (Beat six times because I'm disgusting), Persona 3 (Beat 3 times), Final Fantasy 7 (3-4 times), and Final Fantasy 8 (3-4 times). I would say that I've probably sunk about that much time into Smash Bros Melee, Soul Calibur 4, and Tekken 3 with my friends too. Most of those were just because I didn't have any other games to play at the time, my playing habits are very different now.
Edit: Oh and my Soul Silver save may sit at 350 hours... But c'mon, EV training while I watch tv barely counts.
Outside of all the Pokemon games which I've spent a good couple hundred hours in many of them... Civ V has easily become the most time I've spent of a single game. Steam clocks me near 700 hours. Even though that's horribly innaccurate, the actual time I've spent playing is still pretty crazy. That's what you get for playing a match with every civ on Epic game length.
According to Steam: over 1,350 hours playing Team Fortress 2, then Saints Row: The Third at a little over 410 hours, and now I'm roughly at the two-thirds point in Fallout 3 - Game of the Year Edition (meta-game + 5 DLCs = epic!) at 255 hours and still ticking
I remember playing Fallout 3: The Game of the Year Edition last year. I played the main quest and all of it's DLC together, and I put in almost 100 hours on it. It was the longest game I've ever played, and I thought it was an awesome game.
Right now Raptr says i have 291 hours in League of Legends, but i only installed Raptr about 2-4 months ago. Lets reason the rest out: I've played 1200 total classic games so at 30 minute average game i have at least 650hrs including dominion games.
Also Minecraft probably surpasses LOL but that whole year is a blur
I've sunk more hours into Call of Duty 4 than I care to admit, but that's partly because I can't remember exactly how long I played the multiplayer for. Suffice it to say, it was a lot.
I want to say Battlefield 2 but I think Oblivion is probably the one I sunk the most time into. I had one save file with like 400 hours on it, another with 150, and a third with about 60. Battlefield 2 I think I clocked in at about 400 hours in total.
Rock Band 2 probably, played the hell out of that game for 2 year, but as a franchise it isn't even close, Pokemon, thousands of hours in that as a kid...and still today
