This site makes me genuinely laugh in a way no TV show or movie has in years.
I feel almost like I know the guys, because I feel you get a genuine insight into who they are (part of why I like Jar Time so much) as dudes, rather than being online personalities that come across as inherently false.
@Tim_the_Corsair: Absolutely. And that is the exact way I feel about the personalties on shows like G4's Attack of the Show or X-Play. I understand their appeal and vision is significantly different from GB's (for very understandable reasons), but gosh, do I personally dislike those shows. Like, I'm trying not to come across as offensive, but I find the hosts patently non-genuine and just ...unpleasant to watch. Whether that's due to their (super-lame) scripts/jokes or what not, I just...ugh, don't like watching those shows.
GB is where I go to get away from that kind of content. And yes, clearly not for everyone, but hey, I'm glad a place like this exists. Editors that we trust, that are entertaining, yet knowledgeable about their subject matter. Let's be clear, there are many blogs/sites with young talent that try to do with GB does (freedom! let's be bold when talking about games!), but because of the Giant Bomb crew's known histories with GameSpot and the like, GB comes across as an particularly informed "freedom! let's be bold when talking about games!"
It is the beautiful thing that rose up from the ugly dirty ashes of the once great gamespot. Haha and I couldn't be happier, these things do happen for a reason. ( Though I do miss Rich Gallup )
Why do I come here? Because of the unusually intelligent nature of its forums, the Bombcast, the Reviews and the wiki. I love this site and gladly pay a monthly fee for it.
