To be more specific, which of these isn't being handled properly/ with enough respect by Sega? Which one do you really care about the most?

I personally think Greendog: The Beached Surfer Dude! should have at least been on a hundred different Genesis collections. I was going to add Matt Rorie's Alpha Protocol but apparently Sega WILL NOT publish any sequels.

Also ignoring licensed stuff like Aliens. None of the Atlus stuff.

Every Clover/Platinum original IP is being misused with the exception of Bayonetta. You missed Infinite Space.

Honorable Mention goes to Yakuza because still no localization of anything after Dead Souls. No Yakuza 5 and none of the spinoffs.

A Panzer Dragoon RPG in this day and age would be amazing. Realistically, I hope more Yakuza games come West. Those are better Shenmue games than Shenmue actually was, and I played the hell out of Shenmue.

Everything that isn't Sonic. Seriously, you could probably make a compelling case for most of their IPs.

Also, you forgot Burning Rangers so I'll just go with that for the hell of it.

@babychoochoo: Even Sonic is being misused, they had a fantastic engine for making 2D and 3D Sonic games and they threw it in the trash in favour of a bad co-op game.

Surprised we haven't seen a second sequel to their kart racer yet, it was surprisingly good, and was the closest Sega came to acknowledging the existence of most of this.

Vaklyria Chronicles. I know there were sequels on the PSP and I know one of them even made its way west. But where is a follow up home console release. It's been like ... 6years? That's a game I would buy a PS4 for.

How about Universe at War? They took that off Steam and all the other digital stores, and never bothered to rid it of GFWL. :(

It was an RTS by Petroglyph - the remains of Westwood, with music by Frank Klepacki, who did the music for the Command & Conquer and Red Alert games.

I have no idea how anyone is saying Panzer Dragoon, there is five entries in its series, that's more than tons of games get, not to mention a spiritual successor in Crimson Dragon. Also, Shinobi had a game only a handful of years ago that was actually alright, but nobody played it. They even rereleased Revenge in an updated form recently and a cool 3D version of Shinobi 3 on the 3DS.

I went with Valkyria Chronicles. I would have said something like Skies of Arcadia, Burning Rangers or Shenmue but those all got characters or stages in the Sega kart racing games. Valkyria Chronicles, a game with beloved characters and iconic vehicles, isn't in their kart racing game. My hope is that Atlus decides to revive the IP, since Sega did say they could use whatever unused IPs they wanted.

I voted for Oasis - Legend of and Beyond were both incredible games, but really Sega's most neglected IP in my opinion would have to be Phantasy Star. A proper traditional Phantasy Star, not the horrible Online series. Although to be completely honest I have little faith that Sega can actually release a good game anymore, and they don't seem all that concerned about it either.

...Ok I just seen Greendog: The Beached Surfer Dude! on that list. Wow, talk about a game I haven't even thought of in a very long time! I played the hell out of that game. There was something special about that game. Oh, the music...the music was great! Thank you for this rush of nostalgia.

Chakan: The Forever Man was also one of those great old Genesis game that wasn't all that great.

Valkyria Chronicles has been grossly mishandled, but Kid Chameleon is my favorite Genesis game and it has been completely ignored. I would slaughter a litter of puppies for a new 2D Kid Chameleon.

I can think of three: Skies of Arcadia, Valkyria Chronicles and Shenmue. I cast my vote for Skies of Arcadia though.

Of course, if they were to make a Skies of Arcadia now, I can totally see them screwing it up.

Skies of Arcadia. That game was an absolute delight to play through and it could be grown to such a bigger thing now with the new systems. But I'm not sure I'd want Sega to develop it.

The correct answer is just about every franchise from 32-bit and earlier. All those arcade games that Sega continued to make well after consumers stopped buying arcade games. You know, the games that sunk the company. I want all those games to come back.

Also if a poll require scrolling then it have to many options.

You could make a case for just about any of those aside from Sonic. I'd probably also add most of their other racing game properties: Hang-On, Sega Rally, Daytona, etc.

Since I had to pick one though, I voted for Streets of Rage. For such a revered and well known Genesis franchise, it's hard to believe that Sega hasn't done something new under that name.

They need to do something with Shenmue....something. The biggest issue with Shemue is nobody really cares about Ryu Hazuki, because he was a bit of a jerk. The prophecy, the jade stone, and Lan Di himself are a bit dopy. And, Shenmue itself is a damn tree in China.

So, how do you make a game with that much baggage when what people want is an open world game where 'literally' everyone on the street has a huge story, is interactive and is important. That why I say, they RE-BOOT. But they don't wipe away the story, they move it by saying Ryu failed, he never found Lan Di. The game opens in 2062 Ryu's grand daughter, she is a rebellious teenager too, but her rebellion is being more traditional than her 94 year old father who was more western and become even more so later in life. Long story short Ryu regrets failing, as he is on his death bed a letter from a trusted source that says Lan Di has died at age 121. Ryu than explain to his daughter the story, his failure, and introduces some thread that is left unfinished for the grand daughter to latch on to as the adventure.

Because the game happens in 2062 it is futuristic. What is traditionalism and what is modern in that era??? What is Japan like and what is China like in 2062? I think by using the grand daughter you an wipe away some of the weirdness of the old games, simplify the story to make WHAT THE HELL is going on more clear.

I'd say Valkyria chronicles, because I actually care about those games, but it got two sequels despite selling like 5 copies in the west. Am I resentful that VC3 will never come over here? Yes. Probably less resentful than the Yakuza fans out there though.

The correct answer is: everything Sega hasn't done stuff with since the dreamcast era.

    I choose Vanquish.

Replayed the game recently (finished it again a few hours ago) and felt slightly depressed that there was never a sequel. I'm now even more thankful for their weird and cool little end-game credits game, since it cheered me up.

Yeah I almost added all their classic, arcade racing games but Outrun seems to be the most fondly remembered. Probably should have added Hang-On.

I voted for Streets of Rage myself. Streets of Rage 2 has aged better than any other beat-em up from that era, and you can't talk about beat-em ups without mentioning it. They'd have to modernize it somehow but... it's gotta be worth it. At least to update that goddamn incredible Yuzo Koshiro soundtrack.

    Loading Video...

Also, you forgot Burning Rangers so I'll just go with that for the hell of it.

Shit. I only know it from that Transformed stage. Not too familiar with Saturn stuff.

They need to do something with Shenmue....something.

A proper re-release would be nice! If they can do it for Sonic Adventure 2 and Sega Bass Fishing, c'mon.

Probably could have pulled from a more comprehensive list, I'm mostly biased towards the Genesis era. I'm definitely missing a lot of ones they've published within the last decade, but look at it this way: at least they released a game in that series within this last decade.

As everyone is pointing out, their most neglected IP is literally everything that isn't Sonic and sorta Yakuza.

On the other hand, they barely have any competent 1st/2nd party dev teams left, so it's not like I expect much of anything out of Sega aside from pushing out Sonic games every year so the company stays afloat.

Alright, "keep the company afloat" is inaccurate. Let me rephrase: "It's not like I expect much of anything out of Sega aside from pushing out Sonic games every year so they can justify the continued existence of their video game division."

I guess they also own Total War, and whatever other American/European devs they've acquired, and those studios are alright, but my point is, I don't think of internal Sega as this shining star of video game development, so I wouldn't be all that jazzed if they suddenly brought back Skies of Arcadia or Panzer Dragoon or whatever. Sadly, it's not the Dreamcast days anymore, and I think modern Sega would fuck up any attempted revival of those types of games. The magic is gone.

I'm all for them experimenting with weird stuff, though. Which usually just means publishing someone else's crazy idea, like Vanquish.
