While doing an insane amount of Dissidia Duodecim research, I came across images of an alternate costume for Lightning

Yep, that's her dressed as Aya Brea, from Parasite Eve.
While it makes sense, it is still kinda bizarre.

A lot of games have weird cameos.
I personally loved Gex the Gecko and Sir Fortesque in Hot Shots Golf 2.
Then again, HSG has had pretty much every main Sony character as a playable character.

Which cameos do you remember from games?

Capcom could have done an awesome one by putting Frank West in Dead Rising 2, but putting him in a separate downloadable game is a fair trade.

Edit: Unrelated to Soul Calibur, but the five people who played Spy Fiction most likely noticed that Lysander and Forest Kaysen returned in Deadly Premonition (well, sort of, the names were the same, but characters were quite different). And then there's a license plate in Deadly Premonition that says SPYFCTN (or something along those lines).

I don't know if you have video game character cameos in mind specifically, but Michael Jackson in Space Channel 5 was pretty choice.

Brian Posehn as the hunter in Brutal Legend.

Yeah his side-quests were simple and repetitive, and a lot of his V.O. clips were reused way to much but the first time I stumbled on him in the game was sooo good.
