What is there to do on GB?

I'm just wonder, besides reading articles, watching videos, and posting in the forums, what else do you guys do on GiantBomb? Those three things are all I do mainly besides look up info on games once in a while.

So I guess I'm looking for things to do on the site besides those things above. Ideas?

I don't even know where to begin, or even what kind of information I have on games I could contribute.

@somberowl I've been where you are, and trust me, it just takes the first step. Start on something you know, like your favourite game. Look through the pages and see if there's something you can contribute to it, or append. That will get you into the mindset of the whole thing, and eventually you'll catch yourself playing a game and suddenly thinking to yourself "Hm, that's pretty cool/interesting, wonder if it's up on Giant Bomb".

I used the site to keep track of my achievements, but now that the feature is gone, I'm only on the forums and edit the wiki sometimes...

Well you can play trivia and go on quests ... oh wait nevermind

I mainly listen to the bomcast. Sometimes I post on here or watch a video./livestream. Since the redesign I have been using this site less.

So how do I do a blog exactly? I see these blog posts on here. Do I just put (blog) at the end of a post about myself talking about a game or topic etc? Are there any rules or guidelines for doing blog posts? Or do I just rant on about something and put (blog) at the end of the topic thread?

There's a blog section on your profile. Start there, but keep in mind that blogs posted to the forums are subject to the same rules as threads are.

GIANT BOMB DOT COM WHAT'S THAT?!

Those threads with "(blog)" at the end are blogs who were also posted to the forums. It's a pretty cool feature this site has that gives more exposure to people's ramblings. To create a blog, go to your profile, click on the "Blog" tab, and when that page loads you should see a pretty inconspicuous big fat "Create a new blog entry" button. You can just click that and get to writing.

When you're done, submit it and you'll be asked if you want to post it to the forums as well.

Moreover, blogs can be attached to specific pages, which used to mean that if you attached a blog to the Hamburger page, a link toyour blog would show up in a particular section of the Hamburger page. But now I guess it's just decorative or something.

Sort of. It allows you to attach a blog to a specific forum (it's how I got my two Persona 3 blogs on the P3FES board), but that's about it.

I like to find old posts I made years ago and edit them so they are just a dick pic. That way someone will randomly go back to an old thread and be scrolling through and get a face full of dong. Plus it's a fun game for the mods to try and find all of them.

Honestly I don't know. Post on the forums. Watch the years of videos content. Dick pics. Listen to the podcasts.

Oh, so you can post a blog to multiple forums now? That's new. Before you could post to multiple pages sure, but they would be labeled as "blogs" under that news/forums/blogs section and not be posted to several message boards... right?

Pretty much. It also makes finding old blogs a bitch, in that it's outright impossible.

You can troll, get banned. Find a troll, get in a fight, get banned. Say the other china-don't-care shirt in the chat, get throttled. Report spammer posts, and have amazing Photoshop threads with mods. Get on Team Brad or agree with Vinny Equals Checkmark.

There's lots you can do, man.

Once I finally started contributing to GB, I started enjoying it a lot more. Personally, I enjoy writing reviews to games if I can find the time, and that's what keeps me involved (to some degree) in the community. Maybe try your hand at that?

Look at all the naked cartoon pussy this site has been known to have hidden away. It may have all been destroyed in the redesign =)

Well I don't know what the rest of you guys do, but I click on threads like this and then spend the next half hour trying to think up the most disturbing song I could just post in them without comment that would be somewhat relevant to the topic. Though I'm not feeling particularly creative today. Nothing seems to quite work.
