What is your GOTY purchase for 2009?

What is the game you purchased in 2009 that you liked the most?

There wasn't actually TOO much so far that impressed me in terms of full games, what really caught my eye are the awesome downloadable games we're getting, Shadow Complex and Splosion Man are at the top of the list so far. But there's a lot of good looking games coming out in the next 4 months, so ask me when the year is over. 

So far Shadow Complex and Batman:AA have really done it for me. But ODST and Brutal Legend still have to come out. And boarder lands, which im very pumped for. So who knows really.

Street Fighter 4

I'm hoping Brutal Legend becomes my GOTY, otherwise I will cry buckets. But schafer hasn't let me down yet.

Technically, it's LittleBigPlanet, an 08 release. 
 
As for 09 releases, Splosion Man. That likely won't stand when I get my hands on Killzone 2 and Uncharted 2. 

Demon's Souls (Korean Import) and then Demon's Souls Atlus US Collector's Version. There is still plenty coming out that interests me and I have yet to pop in Batman despite purchasing it last Wednesday the day after it came out...but 4 day weekend ahead and i'll potentially beat it if real life doesn't catch up with me.

I went into the future and bought Brutal Legend.

The games I want the most have yet to be released, the year isn't over just yet.
 
In fact.. I can barely remember a game I've bought this year.

Tales of Vesperia. It only came out in Europe a few months ago, so technically it counts as an 09 release. And that game was damn good. 
 
Not been a ton of great games I've played from this year apart from that. Street Fighter IV was pretty good, as were Worms 2: Armageddon, Rocket Riot and Garou: Mark of the Wolves on XBLA. Most of what I suspect to be my real GOTY contenders (Forza, Tekken, Assassin's Creed, Alpha Protocal) are all later in the year.

Resi 5 was pretty good, but the game I have enjoyed the most so far is inFamous

Batman.

Infamous blew me away, so it's between that and Street Fighter 4.  Infamous is one of the most fun games I've ever played period. as for Street Fighter, SF4 was the first of the series I've ever really got into and now I can't stop.  
 
Of course, Borderlands is what I have my eyes on now.

Like I said in another topic. It might not technically be a 2009 game, but as far as Europe is concerned... it is. My vote goes to Persona 4.

So far its tied between Resident Evil 5 and Shadow Complex.

 This year I haven't bought alot of new games but have been downloading or buying old ones, such as Half Life, Call of Duty 1, MGS2, Max Payne 1 & 2.. And they've all been really good.

My favorite game I bought this year would be LBP. But for games released this year, it would be RE5.

While I wish I could have said the King of Fighters 12, that game made me very, very sad. For current gen games, Batman: AA would be my pick, although Persona 4 has brought me the most fun.

Street Fighter 4 definately. If you told me I would be playing a fighting game consecutively for 7 months I would say you were crazy. But Modern Warfare 2 is coming out in November, so we'll see.

Resident Evil 5 was the best game of 09 for me so far. I've played the game start to finish on all the difficulty levels but professional. I still can't tell you how the AI partner is as I played the whole thing through each time with my brother-in-law. Two friends, working together killin zombies...worth every penny.

Red Faction Guerrilla.  I've put more time into that game this year than any other game.

Red Faction or Batman. And possibly Battlefield 1943.

As for releases from this year, probably inFamous.

either arkham asylum or resident evil 5. i'm also really looking forward to uncharted 2, modern warfare 2, and dragon age (provided the hard rock trailers aren't indicative of the game's overall tone,) so one of those might turn out to be my goty as well.

Shadow Complex. This year wasn't as good as years past.

I got my 360 in March and I haven't bought many games from 2009 yet. For games I got and played in 2009 I'd say Burnout Paradise, for 2009 releases only Shadow Complex wins by default. Later it might end up being Arkham Asylum or Borderlands though.

As far as games I bought this year, Persona 4 hands-down, but for games that came out this year, I'd say InFamous.

Demon´s Souls, i got the Korean import some month or two ago, and i really love that game. And i´m still playing it, and thats more than what i can say for most of the other games i bought in 09. 
 
It may be a little rough in the edges compare to those other games, but its captivating and it makes me come back for more.

So far it's Shadow Complex.  Brilliant game at a great price.   I can see myself coming back to that one for years.

hmmm... I think I'mma have to go with.... Prince of Persia.
