Metal Gear Solid, Batman Arkham Asylum and City, Wario Land, Xenoblade Chronicles and probably something else I can't remember right now. Really enjoyed all of those, especially Arkham Asylum and Xenoblade. Both are amazing. I should consider putting Xenoblade in my top 10 since I already put Batman and MGS in there.
I played through Fatal Frame, that game is horrible. I tried to play Yakuza 1 but it started to rub me the wrong way about mid way through, the combat just doesn't seem to hold up when you get a decent number of enemies on screen in my opinion. I beat Super Metroid again, got 90% on the items, I know all the locations for the last items but eh. I played through MGS2 for the first time and 3 for a second time, I had to do this on emulator so it wasn't a great experience, I'm hoping they'll release an HD collection on PS4 or PC so I can play them properly. I also played through Rocket Knight Adventures, such a fantastic game. My friend and I finished Resident Evil Zero and RE6, two of my least favorite RE games easily. I also played through a quick run of Way of the Samurai again, easily one of my favorite games of all time. God of War on PS2 and Onimusha 1, god of war, boy that game is not as good as I expected. My friend and I also beat the original Ninja Gaiden on NES, another of my favorite games of all time, so good.
I did make an entire list devoted to the older games I played this year, but I'll just give a shoutout to the PS1 Crash Bandicoot games. They still hold up super well (Crash 2, especially) and Crash Team Racing might just be the best Kart racer of that era.
MGS2, Bioshock Infinite, Gears of War 3, Symphony of the Night. There's probably more, but I can't remember them off the top of my head. Also it's really hard for me to say which games I beat in 2014 and which I beat in late 2013. I'm absolutely horrid with time. There's Dust: An Elysian Tale, Castlevania for NES, Castlevania IV, and Bastion, but I think those were 2013.
I'm pretty much always behind since I jumped into last gen pretty late, so I'm hardly ever playing games the year they're released.
I'm probably forgetting a couple & only counting games that had been out at least a couple years: Assassins Creed, Fable 2, Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas, Saints Row 3, Two Worlds 2, SimCity 2000, Rayman Origins, LA Noir
I'd played 1, 2 and 4 but had somehow missed 3 over the course of my experience - Metal Gear Scanlon encouraged me to play it before they got to MGS3, I was really glad for the experience.
Mass Effect the first one. Wrapped it up just at the start of this year. 2015 is my back catalog year. All of my PC is 4 years old at this point with the exception of my 760 which is 2 years. Going to get at least one more year out of it before I do a complete rebuild of my computer, and that means playing all those games that I bought on steam sales and humble bundles.
