What PS3 game should I (A new PS3 owner) rent from Gamefly next? (Currently have Borderlands as my first)
I could rent some Wii games, too, but I'm getting NSMB from a friend for christmas, so probably won't want to bother.
See also: I have a wife that enjoys everything but military style shooters, so splitscreen co-op games wouldn't hurt.
EDIT: And I have MAG and Heavy Rain on my Queue for when they come out.
I'm not trying to be an ass but this topic has been posted hundreds of times, just search it up and you will find lots of answers.
Street Fighter IV, because when Super comes out, expect non-stop talk from the forums for at least two weeks.
The Ratchet & Clank games. Maybe "borrow" the first from your workplace and rent the new one from Gamefly.
Call of Duty 4, Modern Warfare 2, GTAIV, Fallout 3, Uncharted 2, these are all acceptable choices. Read some Afrika reviews and you'll see that you shouldn't bother.
I know eventually I will play Uncharted 1 and 2, which is why I didn't include them. I am almost halfway done with MW2 on Veteran, and would it be OMG CONSOAL WARZ for me to say that it was far easier on the console? The snap-to-people aiming just makes it so easy to destroy everyone on my screen after popping out of cover. Then again, I'm only halfway there, so it's going to get rough quickly I imagine. I'm mainly looking for something outside of my comfort zone (I haven't played an honest-to-god RPG or Hack-and-Slash in ages, outside of Borderlands for the PC), so that I can get back into the swing of console gaming (lole at me spending way too much of the past two years with PC gaming). I tried the Bayonetta demo and was impressed, I had never been able to get into DMC (the closest parallel I can think of to it), so I was surprised that I enjoyed it so much.
Ratchet and Clank is a good suggestion.. I've thought about trying the series, but would I be more comfortable (whether gameplay- or story-wise) playing the PS2 versions first?
EDIT: @TheGreatGuero: CoD4 I have played both on PC and XB360, so no real reason to go back to it on the PS3, and GTAIV and Fallout 3 I already own on the PC.
Folklore and Valkyrie Chronicles are probably out of your comfort zone and they aren't controller smashing with a hammer difficult. There are demos for both on the Playstation Store." I already own Littlebigplanet, as I knew my wife would like it. (And she did, after complaining for an hour after trying the PSP version that she wouldn't)

I played first R&C game for PS3 without really experiencing the others on PS2 and really really enjoyed it.
Condemned 2 is pretty good too. Although the first one isn't on the PS3. :(
Sacred 2 was supposed to be pretty good on consoles.
Saints Row 2 is pretty damn fun.
Condemned was an excellent game, but I played C2 and really, really didn't like it.
Sacred 2.... Ah hell, why not.
And I had completely forgotten about Saint's Row. Although I'll probably wait until i can get a friend with which I can mess around with co-op.
@TwoOneFive: I got Borderlands so that I could play it with a few friends that also have it. I've beaten it on PC a few times, but I still have not gotten tired of it. It's a fine, very replayable, co-op game.
" @Barrock: I actually downloaded the Valkyrie Chronicles demo and deleted it. I never played it. I should probably redownload it and actually play it. I'm always frightened of RPG demos, though, they never seem to properly capture the gameplay. The neat thing about Valkyrie Chronicles is it has shooter elements. You move your character and aim and take cover. 19$ at Walmart.
