This isn't for me, this is for someone one.
What video games is best for a middle aged woman? (topic 4 years old)

Cooking Mama? SORRY I'm sorry...
Does she play games? Or has much interest in them? Not much to go on besides gender and age, hard to recommend something.
With out much more to go on, then I would say, if shes not a gamer then perhaps some popcap games, like bejeweled or solitar. Or perhaps, if you want to try something faster passed, the Sims.
Or perhaps some adventure games, like The Book of Unwritten Tales, that's pretty easy, i only got stuck once, and it turned out that what I was doing was correct.
If you have a Xbox 360 then Viva Pinata is a great game.
Okay I'll actualy try,
Minecraft. She could play using a wired controller on pc, of not Xbla version.
Animal crossing. Very fun.
Sim city?
Pokemon. C'mon Pokemon is awesome.
Zelda is always fun.
Call of duty. Just kidding.
Pikmin. Amazing!
Mario games. Such as Luigi's Mansion or paper Mario.
That's what I could think of. I covered wii/Xbox 360/ds/gameboy/pc games.
Well, considering that all middle aged women aren't the same, I don't know. Is there any way you can be a little more specific and list her interests?
Adventure games. I love playing them with my family, all the women specifically really get into the solving of puzzles or appreciating the engaging characters. Nothing too taxing on the thumbs too, just relaxing muscle-wise and more mind-taxing.
Start with Revolution's Broken Sword games.

The fuck you sorry about, that game is fucking fun bro.
Trying to avoid the s word by making it clear I was joking. I've never played it but if it's as bananas as babysitting mama I'm sold.
My boss fits that description. She plays Sims Medieval and really enjoys it .

That's sad.
My mom loves picture search games and Professor Layton games on the DS. I also got her into Botanicula, which she really likes. She liked the original Sims, but found that there were too many systems to keep track of in the sims 2 and 3.
Katawa Shoujo? Eh? No?
Maybe the bit.trip games. Bit.Trip RUNNER perhaps. It's hard to say though, since all middle age women are different.

Do you have kids? Do you ever pick them up from school? This will give you a different outlook on middle age women and their similarities. :)
@jozzy: I have a middle aged sister (although I only realized that she was middle aged after I clicked this thread, honestly. It's weird to realize she's that old.) and she has middle aged friends. Also her kids friends tend to have middle aged moms who I interact with occasionally. Therein lies the majority of my experience with middle aged women.
My sister is an odd lady, though. And I don't believe she cares for video games of any sort.

It seems like you really enjoy "interacting" with MIL... eh, middle aged moms.
Don't mind me, I've been spending too much time on forums today. And too much time listening too may wife complain about the other middle aged moms at school the last few years.

Yup. It is. I'd assume most people one here would get I was joking but after the last few months who knows.
Something that doesn't have too many mechanics and isn't too difficult. Have you considered Kirby's Epic Yarn? Does she like The Beatles? If so, that's another game for her. Something like Journey and Flower could work too. Make sure to choose something that doesn't penalize her harshly, at least for now. She should become more familiar with a controller before playing something like Uncharted.
